I am looking for a larger heavy duty tactical folder in the under $200 price range. So far its looking like the Zero Tolerance 0301. Any other good suggestions?

Either one of the Hogue EX01's. 3.5" or 4". The 4" is one large knife that carries smaller than it feels in hand (Millieish in that regard but not quite as svelt) and it's relatively light to boot. I have one of each in G-mascus, green and black. About $175 street, give or take.

I say you have already struck gold with the 0301. When I think large blade tactical folder it's the first... and best... knife that comes to mind.

IMO, the 300 series are the way to go.

I have a ZT-300 right now (soon to be all 3) and love It, It has awesome blade steel, GREAT coating, good balance, etc. A lot of people complain about the weight, I don't see why, the only problem I have ever had was on SOME of my jeans It pulls the pocket out to the right. Plus you cannot beat the warranty from Kershaw. Have you ever handled one? Maybe someone who lives near you can let you use theirs and see how you like It?

Well, I'm not quite sure how big you're looking for. In the 3" - 4" range the ZT's are definitely a very solid choice.

If you want bigger than that though you've always got the Cold Steel Rajah series.

Hogue without a doubt and don't over look the TOPS CQC 747. I 've got one of those too and it is excellent, BUT probably the best bang for the buck is the CS Recon line. I don't know what they do to the AUS8a they use but whatever it is it is better than any other AUS8a heat treat on a knife I have owned. keepem sharp

Good suggestions so far...any others? I love Emerson and Strider but they are out of my price range.

I keep going back to the ZT301..I love the Strider knives, but this is super close for he money.

I can't seem to pull the trigger on one w/o steel liners? Call me fickle but I can handle the weight. :)

Same here, not the same knife w/o them...

to the OP the Spartan is a ridiculously strong, beefy knife.
