HELP: Looking for a daily carry which is UK legal

Can you even have a tactical knife that doesn't lock?
I was wondering the same thing. Not that I'd be particularly interested in being on the wrong end of a sharp folder of any type, but ISTM a locking blade is pretty much de rigeur for combat/tactical/self-defence use, is it not?

I have been thinking of a knife design that would be legal under UK laws but still a deadly weapon if you had a legal reason to use it as one. It would have a single edged 3 inch long but very wide and thick blade with a big belly.
It would not lock but would have a nub like the peasants knife so that as
long as your hand is on the handle it won't open. I would make the pommel thick and heavey so it could be used as a hammer or impact weapon.

I belive everyone should have the right to protect themselves and their family. The idea that you can stop someone from getting a weapon in a free society is luducrous, what happends when criminals start using hammers and chisels? Ban all tools? I can understand banning guns in the UK(I don't agree)
because often thugs miss and hit innocents but more important because it is actually possible to stop most people from getting them. This is not the case with knives which you can't even keep from maximum security prisoners.

Hi all,
I need to find a good folder which has a folding blade (yup, an unlockable impending guilotine!) which is no longer than 3" in useable blade length.

Its primary use is "tactical", needs to be a thumping strong blade and rapidly deployable (if that is indeed a word).

so...
NO LOCKS! NOT DOUBLE EDGED! 3"!

I know most people's feelings about United Kingdoms laws on blades and shaprly pointed objects, but let us concentrate on working around the law of the land, rather than just declare the law idiotic or unworkable.

Is anything out there that would come to these standards? I cannot think about grinding off the blade lock on my CRKT Kaspar, as most knives that have good locks on them have very light springs that wouldn't hold em open on their own.

Warmest Regards

Have you considered a popsicle stick rubbed on the sidewalk until it's pointy?
