HELP: Looking to buy a pocket knife under $60

I have only looked at Kershaw and Spyderco knives so far.
I am looking a knife with:

Blade: Wide, and at least 2.5" in length
Handle: 4", smooth, ergonomic, wide

Features:
If folding - a Flipper (Kershaw's name for the lever that flips the blade open with your index finger). I prefer a knife you can open and close quickly and easily with one hand.
Clip that isn't too stiff.
Smooth folding action, and easy to unlock. (Some knife unlock / liner locks are flush with the handle and make it hard to slide the lock over.)
+ Another multifunction, such as a bottle opener, screw driver.

I used to own this Kershaw Skyline but I lost it. It had good balance and smooth folding / unlocking action right out of the box.

I am looking for something like these ones:

This^ one would be perfect if it had a flipper on it. I might just get this Kershaw Shuffle unless their are any other suggestions.

I'd say get another skyline, its a different class of knife than the little shuffle is, one of the most recommended knives around here.

Also its a different look than you want but check out the kersha Shallot, its a great flipper for under your price, tho quite a bit larger and different blade shaped than the FB you said you liked the shape of.

Also can't have a <$50 EDC suggestion thread without the ontario rats (model1 = 3.5", model 2 = 3" and almost 1/2 the width.

Edit: what's the name of that kershaw FB?

I just picked up a Kershaw Knockout. It seems to be what you are looking for. As of Sunday Amazon was selling them for $40.00 after $10.00 discount.

I would like to get something different than the skyline though.

The Shuffle is nice but it's a cheapy and I don't like the K grip

Kershawguy, he's a member on here, can't beat his prices. Also I second the suggestion for the Kershaw knockout, very nice knife and fits the specs you want.

grownstar,is that the knockout,i have been thinking of a cryo2, does that have aluminum or steel for the framelock , handles.thanks.

Anything from Kershaw, they have many awesome AO flipper knives. Clash, Oso Sweet, Knockout, Piston, Thermite, Cryo/Cryo II to name a few. If you want multi-function check out their Funxion line. IIRC the biner clip can also serve as a bottle opener.

The Knockout uses aluminum scales but has a steel lock bar. The name comes from the chuck of scale the "knocked out" to make room for the steel lockbar. They call this a sub-frame lock.

And don't forget our Exchange, sometimes new, mostly used, -- which means checked out, lemons got weeded out by the original buyer and returned. Read the ads and you can get a feel for the seller by the detail he gives you and the pictures. Read his feedback score to see how reliable he's been.

I just found a Boker Trance Droppoint offered for $25 last night, on the Exchange. Best deals in town.

Thanks for the list Esav.

I think the Kershaw Knockout would be too big for my purposes.

I only need about a 2.5" Blade and a 4" handle would be perfect. I prefer a short fat blade because of the stability.

I came across this Boker Nano knife but it's way too small. I want to find one with a flipper, and a bit bigger in overall length.

Handle Length: 2.875"
Blade Length: 1.875"
Overall Length: 4.75"

Those ton knives aren't flippers though.

I picked this set up at Walmart for $20 but I'm going to return it. http://www.walmart.com/ip/Kershaw-Limited-Edition-3-Piece-Knife-Set/33455736

It's the Swerve and the Freefall.

Both fold out poorly. The bearing the blade is mounted on is very gummy. The Liner-Lock has a very poor design. It's flush with the opposite side of the handle, and no little grippy bumps on it to Slide it over with your thumb. I have to use to hands to close it. There is a secondary partial locking bump on the liner-lock too that seems to just be in the way.

Kershawguy.com has knockout blems for $45. IIRC that's about $10 less than normal. The blems will have cosmetic defects but nothing that effects the function of the knife and they also don't have a warranty. The 1/2, 3/4, and 1-ton knives don't have flippers, sadly. I think the Cryo is a little shy of 3"

There is a lot of good knives for that. Top ones would be Kershaw Skyline for the flipper. The Spyderco Tenacious and the Rat 1/2 are good knives as well.
