Help me build my Koster Bushcrafter!

The 3V is amazing stuff. Sharpen it at home and don't worry about it. It's tough as hell and holds a scary-sharp edge. If you really think you're going to need to sharpen it in the field (and I'm betting you won't), buy a small, $20 folding DMT diamond hone.

I love my 3V Koster BF Bushcraft with natural canvas Micarta handles. I only wish the handles were just touch fatter.

Stay sharp,

desmobob, good point about a DMT diamond hone. I was looking at the DMT Diafold, but can't decide which is better for the field: Course and Fine or Fine and Extra Fine. Wish they made a Medium and Fine. Anybody have experience with these?

Still going back and forth about the steel. I've decided to go with the natural canvas micarta and the stainless steel corby bolts, thanks to recommendations from this forum.

Anybody else want to chime in with their thoughts?

My big red fine DMT takes off too much material just for a touch up. My portable is the green extra fine. It should have had a great deal of wear now but it is still at an ideal abrasive stage for my purposes. I project it staying that way.
