Ok, here's the deal guys and gals, I got 100 dollars to spend and I would like to spend that on a new spyderco (i have the endura 4 and that’s it). I would like to get your guy's opinions on which one I should get. Use your own uses and criteria to judge what would be best... I want to leave this as vague as possible so that I can get the widest opinion base. Thanks!

Are you looking to spend all $100 or save some if possible?

In any case, I'd get something that's not a lockback, just to try new things. Paramilitary or Manix2 come first to mind.

Right now you can get a Caly3 with zdp189 and carbon fiber for that much. Incredible slicer, top notch materials, good ergos, good size for EDC,discreet carry with the wire pocket clip and more than tough enough for most uses. If you're looking for a extreme hard user go with the manix2 but it will be heavier and possibly to large for some people's EDC.

First knife right off the top of my head would be a Spyderco Sage (the carbon fiber one) - they're selling for about $100.

If linerlocks aren't your thing, either one of the two Caly 3's would be a good choice for EDC, as would be a Spyderco Native.

Good suggestions so far. I just got a G10 Dragonfly and it rocks! Totally recommended.

I was looking at the military but it's fairly hard to find one new for 100 bucks, and i do like all the other ones that are mentioned. Def, a tough choice

personally the next spydercos on my list are the manix2 and the Spyderhawk in h1

The manix is a super heavy duty folder and i think it looks awesome

The spyderhawk in h1 with spyderedge would be a useful knife to take with you in water, and it can serve a secondary defensive role

thats just whats on my list:D

Hmmm so many good options right now its very hard to pick... I would recommend a few... The sage 1, the Stretch (you can get the FRN ZDP-189 one for about $100), or you could save up $30 more and go all out on the new Gayle Bradley. 4 inch M4 blade and a sweet carbon fiber handle! Shoot really whatever spyderco you pick I think you'll really like it especially if its your first. I would also recommend that you choose a different blade shape than your used to. IE. probably the sage or paramilitary. I just picked up a paramilitary and I LOVE it. I finally know what all the hype is about. That leaf shape blade cuts like a mad mofo and the huge thumb ramp really adds leverage to your cuts. Good luck!

SteelSnob: im trying to figure that out. Long stroy short i live in the country side but i have to drive into seattle for my job. If i choose to get somthing small then it will become my edc for a while. The military would not be an option here as seattle has a 3.5 inch limit. If i get somthing larger then it would be for my off hours. I do have the endura 4 but that doesn't mean that i would be opposed to getting another large folder. I like large folder since they fill up my large hands really well. I normally use my knife to cut fruit and open lots of packages at work. On my off work hours i use it around the house for whatever as well as cut hay bail twine. i also will hike with it in conjuction with a fixed blade.

I vote the Native (4?) w/ VG-10 and carbon fiber handle scales.

Second pick would be Endura 4 in foliage green G-10 and full flat grind.

The G10 endura four looks to be a really good knife, but i want to try somthing on a different platform. Although th native could be a good choice.

I would the caly3 zdp cf if it were me. The sage 1 will also be a good choice. Both have ffg leafshaped blades, cf handles, wire pocket clip, good ergos. The caly3 will be lighter and have better edge retention and be a slightly better slicer but not as robust as the sage. The caly usually goes for $150 but it can be found for around $100 right now.

I carry a Caly3 carbon fiber in my pocket with keys, coins and all I see is a few minor scratches on the exposed portion of the blade flat. Carbon fiber wipes the metal transfer from my keys right off. The thing is really durable.
