Gary007 said:they were able to lick the peanut butter off without setting off the trap! How is this possible?? I guess they are being very delicate about it. :grumpy:
fulloflead said:The trigger is too heavy on the trap. Are you SURE that thing works? Test it with a drinking straw or something.
Get on of those BIG traps with the spikes inside that they use for gophers and such.
Rig something to electrocute the suckers! Can you set something up so that their tongue touching the bait will complete a circuit?

Gary007 said:yep it works. Infact I have 3 of those traps, side by side. All of them were licked clean. I will look into some other traps.

No wonder you have rats. You keep feeding them.![]()

Gary007 said:oh geez...this is embarrassing, but I think I've been setting up the traps incorrectly.I think I've got it now though. Been putting the latch in the wrong spot.

Man they don't stand a chance when that heavy clamp comes down. Aint a pretty site. :barf:
Gary007 said:Got rats living under my mobile home. I was able to catch one with a standard rat trap. Since then they seem to be able to take the food without setting off the trap.![]()
I even go so far as to take a piece of sausage and tie it to the trigger mechanism of the trap. They seem to be able to take the food despite this.![]()
Any tricks or tips? Anyone with more experience than me?
I hate to poison them because I don't want their little rotting bodies under my house, nor do I want to crawl under there to fish them out. :barf:
