Hank what do you mean by "What OS?" ?
The more I learn about this computer the more I realize just how little I do know.:)
It wasn't all that long ago I finally figured out where to find my browser and other info at.
WebTV is much simpler, but I wouldn't go back unless I was absolutely forced too.:D
The 14" TV setting right next to the computer beats that stinkin little pip on the same 14" screen any day!!!!!!!!!!!
Half way watching the race right now, anything I miss comes back up on instant replay:D :D :D :D

One of these days I wanna learn how to scan an e-mail attachment for bugs. I don't know if I can do that with the security systems I have set up?
Until that day I will continue to delete any that comes from folks I don't know. Probably a good idea anyway, ainnit?

OS = operating system. Windows 98, 95, ME, XP etc..

Uncle... you have to change the link at the end of your e-mails and message posts to show the new site instead of the smoothsale place. :o

I just placed an order for a couple of KK's and the site worked great. Secure ordering and secure payment with pay-pal. I have to agree with SvenW, it would be nice to get larger pictures when you click on them, but you can work that out later.
Good job!

Thanks Bruise!!!!
So in that case I am running IE 6.0 and ME.:)

Yes, Bro does need to fix the link. I tried it earlier as well and it didn't work.

I did figure out the new shopping site. I was clicking on the wrong places last night. Looks good to me as soon as it comes up with a mandantory security page.
But I usuallly buy in a different way so it doesn't apply to me, reminds me. I need to get a cashiers check for Bro soon.:o ;)

I used the site's search feature to locate the kagas katne without any trouble. Though when I filled out the ordering info (choosing COD, BTW) and pressed the continue button it wouldn't load up. I have a rather slow computer, so that may just be the problem.

The COD option isn't working. Everything else seems to work well, unfortunately it doesn't take cc.

N2S, et al. I'm not a paypal member, but it appears that paypal takes Visa and MasterCard.

Edit:
I guess COD might be an option for some people, but from what I've heard COD can be a real pain in the arse.
I'm not sure if I were running a business if I would have a COD option. Perhaps Uncle Bill feels the same way since he works on an honor system anyway?

Pay-Pal works fine on the new site and is a secure sender:). The bad part it works to good :(. I've sent uncle money twice with no problems :).

Uncle,
Somehow my comp wasnt letting me in last night, but i am good to go today! got in without a problem, looks good!

Paypal has a firm cap at ~$1000. once you hit that lifetime total the only way to exceed it is by providing your direct banking Info. This is something I will not do online. Also, when you sell through paypal they cut themselves in for a BIG percentage (they hit me once for about 5%), and then they want an additional fee to send you the check.

I have stopped doing business with Paypal.

Well, there is always the snail mail alternative.

Does that mean after I buy $1000 worth of khuks Paypal wants banking info? Also does that mean Paypal gets 5% of Uncle's income? That doesn't sound too good. Is there a direct credit card method yet to be implemented?

This Paypal company sounds like some kind of extortion racket. :barf:

I'm on my fifth bottle of Heineken. Have been struggling all day with the shopping site. Updated my website to direct folks to the new site.

I'm just trying to get everything listed. I was trying to do it in alphabetical order but kept forgetting item so listing is in "almost" alphabetical order.

I've updated my email sig to reflect the new site. Will try to get around to getting my forum sig updated tomorrow. Remind me if I don't do it.

One of the problems is I spent three hours processing orders for kagas katnes which dug out of my "creative" efforts.

When I get everything at least up and running I'll fine tune everything.

Paypal busts me 2.2% + 30 cents per transaction which is not bad.

I've got a merchant account with CSI but don't know how to get the new site and them hooked up.

Still open for ideas and suggestions. Keep bugging me.

I don't know how COD works either -- or anything else for that matter.

Hey Quad,

8.6 and Netscape 4.5 are ok, but you should look to update Netscape to 4.77, and get your MRJ updated to 2.2.5. That'll take care of some "wiggy" things happening.

Yvsa,

Your setup is fine. Windows ME is ok, and IE 6 is pretty stable.

Hi Uncle,

I just went and took a look at the shopping site. Very nice!

Two things I noticed...

1). When you do a search and get the results, the cell that has the thumbnail of the knife is scrunched (technical term...).. If the software will let you, just increase the size of that thumbnail column width... probably double it or a little more... to allow for the thumbnail from being out of proportion.

2). When you click on a khuk and are taken to the second level, you are presented with a nice thumbnail and description. However, if you click on the thumbnail, the photo will be enlarged for closer examination. That is great... but for people like me (who are real tired and not thinking straight... or just people who don't think straight like Tsimi :p), I'd label the thumbnail so it is obvious that it's clickable and can be enlarged ("Click here for bigger photo dummy" works :D). I actually missed this the first go through... and discovered it by accident a little later on.

What actually erks me about #2, is that it is considered bad design form to label something "click here." However, you have to design it to the lowest (or almost lowest) denominator that'll be looking at your site. I actually had someone tell my my site was not working because the person couldn't get past the opening screen. Actually, all you have to do is click on the photo in that opening screen to get inside... BUT it wasn't labeled. Go figure!

Anyway... great job! I can't wait to see *all* of the khuks online... WWIIs, 18th Century's, not to mention all the new custom additions too!!! :D:D:D

I just checked the latest version and found that the links to the bigger pics are working now. Either Onkel changed it or I was beeing stupid...please Onkel, write you changed it... :D ;)

Onkel, I noticed that the the first additional photo provided for the Kumar Karda is the same as the default foto same for the Katanas and that the additional photos for the JKM are all the same as the default.
I was wondering if the pics for the katanas with decorative scabbard and Kothimoda got mixed, imho the pic for the decorative one looks more exclusive then the Kothimada.
And I was wondering if you would like to change to shipping charges within US are payed by seller :) got to order fast :D

Alan, I agree that there should be a "Klick on the pics for a bigger version" somewhere but maybe it is enough to mention it on the first page just for one time. I guess most users are used to try and move the mouse over an image to get a bigger one.

Thanks everybody for great help. First things first. I've got to try to get everything listed. Once that's done I can start streamlining and improving. That's when I'll really be able to use the help. Right now it is just doing dogwork as fast as I can get it done.
