I received a little money for christmas and I would like to buy a small wood bandsaw to cut scales. I am tired of using my metal bandsaw and having to clean up the wood after. Here are 2 Craftsman bandsaw.

9" bandsaw regular price 250$ on special at 140$ 9" Bandsaw

10" bandsaw regular price 250$ special 200$ 10" Bandsaw

Same motor so I don't know which one to choose. I am leaning towards the 9".

Any advices would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

The 10" "looks" better built(?)

I have a 9" 3 wheel craftsman I bought years ago for the same reason. Couldn't keep a blade on that thing from day one. Not for lack of trying over and over again. It has a plastic rinky-dink tracking system that always moved when pressure was put on the blade. I never even considered a tabletop model again. The thing has been sitting in the garage for about 7-8 yrs. Haven't found another use for it yet. Go big.

Dont waste the money on the 9'' I did not have a lot of money and bought one in middle of October just took it back on christmas eve(didn't last long) i took it back and paid a little extra and got the 10'' i know the frame is heavier but have not taken it out of the box.I can say if you get either one and they offer the extended warrenty buy it!!!!
Good luck,
Keith

Add 50 To that and get the 14" from Harbor Freight. Same Chi-Com saws but bigger
Have had mine for 3 plus years and workin fine.

I just bought a 14" Delta today. I was going to buy a Craftsman, but I heard they had big time tracking problems. I hope I made a good pick with the Delta.

Thanks for all the suggestions. I will probably wait a little and go for the bigger saw. When in doubt, go bigger. ;)

I have an 11 inch Delta tabletop model that works just fine once the tracking is set. It wasn't new, but for $50 on CraigsList, I couldn't resist.

Thanks, Doc. It looks like I'll be O.K. with the 14-incher then.

The craftsman 10'' works fine. Now,how long will it last?Who knows, but as i told you if you buy the craftsman and they offer the two year free replacement get it maybe after two years i can buy something a little better.
Good luck,
