Help me choose a new knife!

I sent him an email about ordering an L51, if you have any leads on any let me know.
 
I'd be curious to know what you hear back from him. I think I read that his books are closed and even when they were open there was a 2-3 year waiting list. I think you may find that your best hope is finding one on the secondary market if you can find someone that has one they're willing to let go of.
 
Thorburn has not responded. :confused:
I have narrowed down my list. It is pretty much Thorburn L51 first choice, and a Damascus Gareth Bull Shamwari as my second choice.
I have been looking at so many custom knives I am dizzy. I am sure there are plenty of knives I a missing, so please feel free to chime in with suggestions (and pictures, lots of pictures). I am open to anything under $1000. So far though those are the two knives that have jumped out at me more than the rest.
Now if I could find someone with both to do a comparison that would be amazing!
 
Quick update I have found my "grail" knife. It is an L51 with carbon fiber scales. I got it for a very fair price. I should be getting it some time next week. As soon as it arrives I will post up pictures and a quick review.

At this point me loving it is pretty much guaranteed!

Another update.

I was able to speak to Gareth Bull. He has been extremely nice, professional, and helpful. I was able to order a 3.25 Shamwari. I just couldn't pass on the opportunity to own this knife. It is like a Sebenza front flipper, which is the knife I dream of CRK making.
Hopefully, it will be getting here in the next couple of weeks. I plan on making a youtube video reviewing this knife in order to help people that are in my situation. It has been frustrating, how little information there is out there on this knife.
Gareth has updated the design a bit by changing the pocket clip. He is introducing a new milled pocket clip.
I think he has about 6 of these left, you can find him on IG for those who are interested in placing an order.

This pretty much finished cleaning out my knife budget for the year. Although, knowing myself I will probably find a way to buy another sebenza :eek:
