Hi everyone, so I'm looking to get a small overbuilt folder like my ZT900. My price is as close to $200 as possible. I'm thinking about
DPX Heat
Lionsteel SR2
Spyderco Techno
Spyderco Burch Chubby
Any other suggestions? What do you prefer? My biggest concern is bang for my buck, and the best warranty. Thanks

Definitely some good choices you have above. Other possible suggestions would be the ZT0808, ZT0456 or Benchmade Mini Barrage 586.

I've had a few Technos...bought and sold...and it is a great knife. I still have ONE nib, sitting in my knife-box. It is small; it is a great build; I would reco that you get the CTS-XHP blade-steel version rather than the S30V, but that is more of a matter of opinion than fact.

Whitty recommended the BM 586. I picked one up couple weeks ago and let me tell you.....it is a flat out awesome knife!! Excellent steel, M390, great F&F, awesome blade profile, super sexy and BM has fantastic customer service!!
Think this one checks all your boxes!! If you like how it looks!
Definitely worth a look!!

Another vote for the Techno in CTS-XHP. It's a solid, awesome little knife. I like it so much, I have a backup.

The ZT0456 is really sweet as well, great steel, and very snappy. And the blade shape...sweetness.

I own the others on your list as well, but my preference is the Techno or 0456.

At Benchmade's site you can customize a Grip/ mini Grip with G10 scales and now they offer M4 steel. I was considering the full size with a coated M4 tanto blade, and it was about $215 I believe; the mini Grip has got to cost less. May be worth a look.

Scott (Whitty) is awesome with the pics... that's why I like to buy from him--you ask about a knife, and he sends you great pics of what you are asking about. Still have that Emerson Super 7 I bought from you! As well as the ZT0900... my son has claimed that for himself.

OK, sorry OP, I just had to give Scott a shout out--he deserves it, he's one of the good guys around here.

How true Aias!! He goes far out of his way, even to annoying knife knuts....not me, to make sure you're happy!!
Great dude!

I have already reco'd the Techno in CTS-XHP steel, which I've had several of. Great knife.
Just saw that Whitty also likes the ZT 0808, which I just received a short time ago. I have not carried it, but it fits my large hand very well, is 4.3 ounces (NOT a brick) and should be a great EDC.

+1 on the 808. I bought one to really abuse and it is holding up pretty well. As Sonny stated, not too heavy.

I love the 586 Mini Barrage; M390 steel is  It is a great medium/small knife.

My main grief with the BM Barrages are the scales. For some reason the black sculpted G10 doesn't agree with me. YOUR scales are incredible. In fact, I love everything about that mini.

Same here; they're too smooth and the way they are contoured on both the mini & full sized is weird IMHO... I made these from a old piece of bamboo flooring fwiw.:cool:

Felt the same way about those scales on the 581.....hit S Ketchen up and he made me these!
Still deciding what to do with the 586.

I don t know about the 586, but the ergonomics of my 581 don t agree with me. Even though the blade is a slicing masterpiece of m390. Those handles just don t feel good in my hand. Look at the mini Ritter or the mini grip with g10 handles and the steel upgrade. The mini grip is a very good feeling small knife and is extremely strong.

Different strokes... I guess. The BM 581 is my go to production knife. I' pick it over the Ritter Mini Grip, Para 2, BM 940, etc. I love the way it feels in my hand.
