Help me choose my first Spyderco.

I probably would get the Blue Manix but I think that they were a sprint run and I can't find them anywhere. Anyone know who still has some?

Never mind. I don't know what the blue manix 2 sold for but I found some on the bay and a few online retailers and they are WAY out of my price range. I was figuring less thean $100.

Delica is a classic, hard to go wrong there. The 1st Spyderco I purchased and own to this day is a wally world Native- quite possibly the best knife value of all time. Has some of the best ergos of any knife I own.

Caly 3 and the Sage line have my favorite ergos of any knife I've ever held. I just love the choils on both of them.

I just ordered my first and second Spydies. First was the karambit. Discontinued but I found one in stock at Blade HQ and it's on the way to me.
The second is the Superhawk. Saw a YouTube review on this knife and couldn't resist. Found the best price at Knifecenter.com and that one is on the way.
As you can tell from this, I love hawkbill blades.

While I'm very new to Spyderco knives, I can say that the Delica 4 FFG is shaping up to be a great knife for me and I'm very happy with my purchase.

The coloured FRN handles look so cool!

Another big +1 on the FFG Delica 4. I got mine (grey) last week and like it so much I might get a second for a backup if this one ever gives up the ghost. It's classic Spyderco.

I literally just dropped a piece of notebook paper (harder to cut than printer paper) and sliced it in half in mid-air with my delica 4 FFG. So this is what I have been missing out on.

This thing is like a lightsaber.

I don't have any experience with the Cat or Chicago but I do own both a Delica and a Persistence.

The Persistence is good, but you really are better off with the Delica 4, especially if this is your initiation into Spydercos.

if you can legally carry a blade of more than 3 inches in length the endura might be for you especially the FFG ones.

I just posted this story in another thread..... here it is!..... enjoy :D

You know it is funny.
My first good knife, was a Delica 4, at the time I thought I was crazy to spend $50 on a knife.
My wife looked at it and said it was a weapon.

Things changed.... I purchased all kinds of knives, Sebenzas, XM-18s, Ansos, benchmades, kershaws, cases, bucks.......
My wife became used to knives, and even like my Spyderco military with it's 4 inch blade.

Now that I have run through all of those knives looking for the ultimate edc, I put my Delica 4 back in my pocket.

It blew me away as my first good knife, and you know, none of the other knives did much that this wouldn't. It is a nice size, weight, price. With excellent performance.
I just purchased a green flat ground delica, and plan to stick with them as my edc for life! (I HOPE )

I really had beginners luck when I picked it up. I was at gander mountain and was about to buy a benchmade, when I remembered reading online that Spyderco knives had loyal, and fanatical fans, and that is why I bought it. And became one myself!

Good luck!
