Help me choose please.

I agree with HotrodKelley...take a look at the NMSFNO while they're still available on the Busse website.

I think you will really find the Skinny Ash1 to be a perfect choice. I love my fatty, but I am sure that a skinny would do everything the fatty will do, and be a better slicer.

check out how much abuse it withstood on knifetests.com. That is an amazing amount of abuse for a thinner knife!

I really love the handles on them too. Very secure.

Yeah I thought about that when HotrodKelley mentioned it. I actually looked at it a good deal.

I really had my mind set on the skinny ash before I posted the question but I wanted to get a response without letting onto that fact.

I really like the handle on this knife. When I got my brothers I picked it up and it fit my hand perfect. It could be a little thicker (i like thick knives), but this knife is very compact if that makes sense. I have been looking at the thicker knives. I have a FBMLE that I love.

the other knife I was considering was the "pumpkin ash" I think it was called.

I decided to just go with what I had in my hand and I knew I liked.

With all of that said, I still want to buy just about every busse I see but I cant all at once (I also like a lot of other makers/manufacturers, and I am far from "wealthy").

I am not sure how I would like the NMSFNO. the skinny ash is the all around utility and the fbmle is the "machete" or the one I pull out when I want to quote ole' dunde....

thanks for your input....

btw, this skinny ash reminds me of my buddies ranger rd6 or something like that. I cant remember. Anyhow, I always liked that knife.

thanks!

yeah, I always watch those torture tests. I would not put one of my knives through it I don't think, but it is nice to see what a knife can handle before failing. I think they are great.

And your thinking is right on with mine.... the handle hugs the sides of my hands just right.

Thanks!
