I'm a fan of the Griptilian both large and small. Plus the Doug Ritter Griptilian can be had with M390 or you can go to Benchmades website and configure your own version with different blades, handle material and colors. I also really like the Axis lock by Benchmade. All four of those are nice knives but for my buck it would be whichever griptilian fit my hand the best for your intended uses.
I find the mini grip handle too small for me, it feels like a mini version of a full size knife, the Delica is a favorite of mine, the handle fills my hand and feels like a full size knife, it's extremely comfortable to use and carry and the Ffg version is an excellent slicer. It would be my pick for edc.
I also love the full size griptilian and for a work knife it gets the nod, the handle is very comfortable and offers a lot of leverage on a stout blade. The endura is a good one, but it feels a little too long in my hand and I prefer the full size grip or delica for that reason.
Delica, zdp-189. I find it much more ergonomic than the grip series. Really depends on how much you want to spend. Manix 2 lightweight is a good one too.
I have both a Grip & a Mini. Either would be a good choice. I don't have any experience with the Delica or Endura, but I have several other Spydercos & it's a toss-up as to which brand I prefer. The ideal thing would be to find a sporting goods store that has both brands, then you can handle them all & see which one calls to you.
The Mini Grip is a very nice knife. However, it is a 3 finger knife for me. It is a bit small. Benchmade has swallowed the myth of the blade/handle ratio hook, line, and sinker. Apparently there is a myth that the handle and blade need to be the same length. No fixed blade has such ratio. Spyderco, on the other hand, wants the knife to fit your hand, first. The Delica is a very comfortable knife to use and it is flatter than the MG so it carries better in the pocket. I say this as a reformed BM MG and G user.
I don't think you'll go wrong with either choice in terms of brand (Benchmade & Spyderco). It becomes a price thing for me. I very much like the Spydie Delica from a value and carry choice. Have never gotten a Benchmade Grip... My only Benchmade is a mini-barrage (so far) and I am considering the regular Barrage now in a higher end steel. I'm warming up to the brand.
Buy them all, try em out. Then sell em to us at a huge discount?
Seriously, I've held the 551-1, 555-1, a few full sizes with AWT scales, Adamas, 940, 810, & a Full Ritter with DOAT micarta scales and would have never thought that a Rift would be one of my all times favs. Go figure. Of course the Ritter takes #1....Rift #2.
I've also owned the Manix2 & the Tenacious. I still have the Tenacious. It's my fishing knife.
My son bought me the new blue and grey grip and it's the best knife I've ever owned. It stays razor sharp much longer than my Kershaw or Boker ever did.
For some the price would scare them off so go for the standard grip. It's also a great knife.
I would also go design it on benchmade website. It's fun and you'll never see your knife around town. I got the blade engraved.
I love my mini grip. I seem to be in the minority, in that I really like the handle scales material. It feels nice in my hand and the grip is good for edc tasks. I don't have large hands though, I wear a small/medium glove and I can get a full grip on the handle. That, and the action and ease of getting the blade in and out is great. I handled the spyderco native 5 and it was nice, but didn't have near the action of the benchmade.
The Benchmades will be excellent flickers with the Axis lock, the Spydies both have back locks and won't click as well.....if that makes a difference for you. It does for me!!
It's been mentioned above......check out the custom shop on BM's web site. You can build your own.....it's a lot of fun!!
Good luck!!
