Hep me decide between these 2 please!

ZT0095 S90V DLC
ZT0920 new Les George model

The pivot on the 0095 has never grown on me nor have I seen one in person so advice is needed.
I love the 0920 but again the pivot and it's a large blade.

Would love to hear your thoughts, but PLEASE no negative comments here.

095, I assume you want this for everyday carry. In my experience I rarely need a knife longer than 3 inches for general purpose modern living everyday utility tasks. So I'd opt for the smaller and lighter of the two.

This.

However, I can't feel the are better options out there than ZT.

Hate black finishes. If it was a black wash with the upgraded steel I may go for that. I'm eyeing the 920 myself.

I'm with you, that's what's holding me back. I've owned blackwash before and it's awesome

I like the blade shape of the 95 much better then the 920. A little too much belly on the 920 for me.

I'm open to suggestions.

LOL, I can't type. What I was trying to say is that I feel there are better options than ZT.

I am not really sure what to suggest to you because I don't know anything about your needs or what you look for in a knife.

Personally, I try to avoid knives with metal scales for anything but light duty use. All this came about after I purchased a Boker folder with aluminum scales. The price was right, blade was perfect, pocket clip was the best I had ever used (still is) and the overall ergos were spot on. I gave the knife away to a neighbor after I used it on a hot summer day in the sun. Sweaty hands and metal scales are not a good mix. "No metal scales" is not a hard and fast rule for me but more of a general guideline for my knife buying. The one real exception is the Alox line of knives from Victorinox.

I also lean towards folders with an overall "neutral" feel to the grip. Equally comfortable and usable in just about any grip is my goal. Emerson's CQC7 is an excellent example of what I am talking about. Benchmade's 531 is also a decent example but the CQC is much better. Don't get me wrong, I don't limit myself to knives with brick shaped handles but I don't own much that has a lot of curve to the grip. The Benchmade Loco is out (shame, I love the blade), along with much of ZT's line, especially if you factor in the "no metal" scales.

I am not anti ZT. They do make a fine product. I like their 0350 and have considered purchasing it more than once.

So, help us out, what are your needs in a knife and what do you look for? Is it that you just like the looks of their knives or what?

For really heavy use...perhaps woods duty, and if your hands are VERY large, then the 0920. The blade is longer, and quite a bit thicker...0.156" compared to 0.120" (zt0095).
I am delighted to finally get a nice folder in S90V, one of the best steels available, although one can argue that both steels are about the same in edge-holding. But the S90V blade, with a 0.120" blade-thickness, is likely to be a MUCH more efficient slicer than the thicker blade. I've preferred carry blades of about 1/8" (traditional CRK Sebenzas 0.125") for many years, as they perform any need that I have. Although I've owned thicker blades, I cannot say that they were EVER necessary for my casual carry. If you need an occasional pry-bar, then by all means, buy the thicker blade and longer handle. But that's NOT for me.
Some folks are just turned on by very thick blades, and that's fine. It's what they happen to like. That tends to be more "want" than "need."
But for more efficient cutting in day-to-day casual activities, the thicker blade just gets in the way. My opinion, obviously.
Both models will serve you well, and perhaps still be around to give to your kids. You can't really make a mistake that isn't easily rectified.

Both are great options. Personally I'd pick the 0920. It's an interesting design. Light weight, realtively speaking for a 3.9'' blade weighing in at 5.4oz. Plus I really dig the blade shape. If your in the market for a ZT Sprint run though, you might want to jump on the 0095 as these don't last long.

ZT0095 in black DLC is bad-ass, imo. If you are cool with the coating scratching and wearing off, then it is a cool choice that won't be around forever.

Personally, the 0920 is a bit too exotic looking for me. Also, I'm not sure how functional the blade shape would be for EDC type tasks. But I guess that depends on what you will use it for.

While i love me some s90 and dlc, ill still have to say the 920. I really like the design. Reminds me of a khopesh (egyptian sword).

I wouldn't pick the ZT0920 because its a recurve blade. the 0095 has s90v steel which can take a long time to sharpen if you don't have the right tools for the job, the s35v version of it is cheaper and available used for cheaper still, tho its stonewashed and not black, its still very cool.

I'd love to have the 0095 s90v sprint cause its one of my fav steel types.

my problem is I've been begging for zt to make a carbon fiber scale version of the 0095 and they come out with this instead argggg zt damn it.

I really like my Les George ZTs (0900 & 0909) and consider them to be some of the best examples in their categories (small titanium frame lock & large, robust folder). For some reason the 0920 doesn't excite me. I have a standard 0095BW. ZT's blackwash is probably my favorite knife finish but overall I am a bit luke warm on the 0095. I can't really pinpoint any faults. It looks awesome but isn't as satisfying in my hand as other ZTs.

I guess I'll vote 0095 given your choices.

What about the Senkevich design it your photo? Do you prefer that one?

I like the 0450 a lot and carry it often. However, there is a significant hot spot issue with the bump at the bottom/back of the handle. I consider the 0450 to be in competition with the Benchmade 940. To me, they are functionally equal but the 940 wins ergonomics by a long shot.

To answer this question, the 0900 is my choice overall if the short handle works for you.
