Help me decide between these two knives

Ergonomics are very personal so I'd handle both before buying if at all possible. If not, buy both and return one. For me I live a Wharncliffe but not a fan of the Yo handle so BM.

Two great knives. The Spyderco excels as a cutting tool, but lacks strength at the tip. The bemchmade's blade is stronger but already quite thick behind the edge. This will only get worse after a few sharpening, whereas the Spyderco's hollow grind will retain the same thickness after many sharpenings.

My vote would be for the yojimbo. My only complaint about it is that the ergonomics are not a perfect fit for me. I wear XL gloves.

Depends on what you want to do with it. That spyderco was originally designed as a self defense knife. The benchmade is more of a hard use "standard" knife. Just imo.

Yojimbo designer explains , start a about 2.22 min :
I think a sheath for the folder that holds it open would be kind of nice. That way the high speed guys could strap it to their high speed gear. But then just rip it out and fold it up at the end of the day.

Both knives are good cutters but I'd take the Spyderco because of the length of the blade edge. That dude is a beast,

I don't carry "gear" per say but yes, it could be an option... Either way, the wave is way faster and less complicated mod than sheath holding open a folder. IMO.
Both knives are very well designed for their different purposes.

I only have the full sized Adamas and the Yojumbo, I really like both but agree that the Adamas might be more useful in general usage as the Yojumbo’s tip is much more fragile. I would think of what and how you wish to use it and make your decision from there.0590F863-D555-469A-8D16-0324DB27B50A.jpeg

Not sure how it would be. I am thinking just one of those pull out kydex sheaths.

It should essentially be a fixed blade.(not as strong.)

I would have to go with the Benchmade because of the blade shape. I find it to be more useful.

Yes, I think I got you the first time. My point was that if I have to carry a fixed blade,
I’ll carry “fixed Yojimbo/wharncliffe” blade. It’ll be easier instead of carry a folder as fixed blade.
If you use the mentioned before 5x5 Combat Solutions “wave”attachment for Spydercos,
you’re getting folder that can be waved, still could be smaller footprint than fixed blade,
maybe slightly faster deployment. I don’t have Yojimbo yet but seen and handled one mod with wave,
it’s a great knife but not what most people will like because of the purpose of the design,
and this is understandable. Again, this is probably off topic, and it’s just my 2 cents

I'd have to go with the Mini Adamas just on versatility alone. It's an excellent all around EDC. But the Yojimbo is a cool blade and a slicey one no doubt.
