its between the new one with the black blade and a carbon fiber( if they made the cf with a black blade there wouldnt be a debate) this is going to be used not stored away. does the black scratch very easily? any ideas are welcome

I have never seen a black blade that didn't mark up pretty readily. Not that it wasn't tough, it just showed markings sooner.

I edc'd a black milly till I lost it :(:(. The black wore really well. I replaced it with a satin ? (non-black) milly, and I'm actually happier with the shiny blade.

I have a couple of carbon fiber spydies (civilian / harpy) and they're cool ,

I'd vote for the CF (and wish I could afford a CF milly)

The CF is pretty special in this model...and it is a Sprint...black will be around for awhile. If you find you don't like the CF you can sell it and get the black. Harder to do the opposite.

I think it's fairly safe to be able to guarentee that you will never regret purchasing a CF Military, over the standard military with variation black blade.

As others have pointed out, the CF is a limited run, and is already somewhat difficult to obtain, let alone in several months time.
It is also the first of the Spyderco's to incorporate peel-ply carbon fiber scales.
In terms of the black-bladed Military, it is somewhat of a more standard Military, and should be more easily found, more so than the CF version.
The black coating is indeed more susceptible to damage, whether it be light scuff marks, scratches, chipped or flaked coatings, or what have you.

Overall, the CF Spyderco's are highly desirable, and a limited sprint run of a classic, workhorse of a Spyderco, and in the ultra-grippy peel-ply carbon fiber,.... what more is there to say ???,... other than you should decide sooner rather than later, for if you do agree and succumb to the temptation of that stunningly-attractive-CF-scaled-Military,.....

.....than you better be quick,....
'cause those gems are certainly being snatched up! :D

Get the grippy CF Military!! get it soon!! The GCF is very sweeeet!!
Try Ron at www.beckscutlery.com . He still might have one, I know my brother already bought one from him. The phone number is on the website.
Tell him I sent ya! :)

Blades

I think the CF is a bit stiffer than the G-10 scales. The less flex the better, especially in a knife without dual liners. My $.02.

Perhaps these will help you with your decision. (Get the CF ;))

Here's an idea if you want a CF Military but not the satin PE blade:

Buy the CF Millie and a G10 one with the blade you want and swap blades. Sell the now satin PE G10 Military. Enjoy your special CF Millie! :D

well i ordered it today..the carbon fiber one, along with a rainbow spderfly and a byrd crossbill. should get them in a few days..thx for the input
