Help me decide on the paramilitary 2

There are really only 2 factors in black vs satin blades. Black looks really cool, but when it scratches (and it will if you use it) it's obvious. The scratches are a lot less noticeable with the satin blade. With the steel being S30V rusting will not really be a factor on either if you just take care of it properly.

I prefer satin because it's less "tactical" and less intimidating to sheeple.

Not sure about that. Often a black blade goes unseen where a satin blade is easier seen.
Screw the sheeple. Be proud of your tools.

Agreed. It's legal, not unusual and no reason not to use a knife. Black is a bit more interesting, to me, and it "may" show scrapes or scratches more easily than stonewash, but some finishes are higher quality (harder, more durable) than others.

I waited until I had nearly a dozen Spyders before picking up pm2, now wish I hadn't waited so long. I absolutely love it. Recently become my goto user, and rides opposite pocket to a zt0562cf (one of my other favorites).

I got the camo satin. But only because the dlc blade was out of stock at the time (all pm2's were hard to find in stock not long ago). But really loving the satin anyway. I just have a bunch of satin s30v, but only a couple with the dlc coating.

Personal opinion, can't go wrong with any pm variations. And you made a good choice with bhq. They are great, I've gotten great service from them (well so are the rest of the dealers on the list too).

Enjoy, and let us know your impressions after you get it.

It chips like crazy. Being a desk jockey, I only really use it to open mail and boxes. Nothing heavy. In the 18 months I've owned it, I can't remember how many times it seen the sharpmaker. As much as I love the design and disappearance in mypockets, its becoming harder to want to carry it. That's why I'm sending it, hoping for the best.

Bummer! Hope it gets sorted out, and thanks for the response.

I love everything about the Para 2 aside from the fact mine like many others has blade play. It had a little when I got it I used the the knife maybe a dozen times and had to send it in for a warranty issue. Upon returning it had more play than when I sent it in and it absolutely drives me crazy. I really want to buy another but just can't bring myself to pay $150-200 for a sprint that I'm afraid will have blade play. I would rather pay more for a custom or get a knife with a design that doesn't lend itself to play.

PM2 in M390 has been my work EDC for 3? Years now. It was from the first Bento run. It is the perfect knife for my range of tasks. Highly recommended. The regular S30V model is probably just as good, but I like the blue handles better.

That's a bummer about the blade play. Hope it gets worked out. Of all my Spyders that could have a little play, I thought it may be the the Para because it is so amazingly smooth. For the record, I don't think any of my Spyders have any play. Because it's so smooth and fires like an assisted opening rocket, it's been my latest ocd toy when I'm idle.

By now I've probably fired it over a thousand times (ok, I may watch a little too much tv, [emoji16]), and it's still smooth, tight, and rock solid lockup. I know, a lot of fast and hard flipping could cause issues down the road, but I've had way too much fun with it.

I have 4 PM2s. I keep telling myself "no more!", but then another one comes out with a different steel and I buy it. So you can rightly assume that I really like them. The weird thing is that I very rarely edc one. I have others that I prefer to carry and are in my small rotation of 3 or 4 max. In my opinion though, I think that all modern folder hobbyists should own at least one PM2.
