Well, I've been wanting another spydie for a long time now, and this byrd line is rather tempting (still want an H1 but can't justify)... But I'm really torn between the Wings (BY20GPandS), the Cara Cara Rescue (BY17SBK) and the Tenacious (C122GPS).

What do you guys think? I like the novelty of the Wings, and though I would carry it off and on it would unlikely replace my Native for EDC. The Cara Cara would be nice as well, although that sheepfoot blade may preclude use as a generic EDC (and the 4" blade)... I have been craving a tenacious, but its impossible to find plain edged versions now, although on that knife a combo edge would be bad...

AHHH what to do!

honestly....tenacious.... i carry mine everyday, the others get rotated but this one stays constant.

it does NOT feel chinese made...i swear if you didnt know and it wasnt marked you couldnt tell

If you want a H1 you will only regret buying something else and in the end you will end up buying that H1 anyway. So try to find some more money and buy what you realy want and it will feel so much better.

I have tenacious pe, byrd flight ce in ss and a native 3 all are great knives but i like the ones with back locks better and the extra cutout for the spyderhole/acess to linerlock on the tenacious aint that comfortable.

So use your native until you got the mone to buy what you realy want.

I was in the same boat a few years back. I ended up with my salt 1 and couldn't be happier. For me it's a niche knife for when I'm fishing/ ducking hunting. I use it to free weeds on the props. It's much easier with a knife than using your hands. Plus since the first few inital sharpening, it had kept an useable edge for about 2 yrs now. It's stuck to my PFD.

Yes the H1 is an eventuality... Just cant justify it right now. I'd *have* to get a serrated one, which means I'd necessarily *have* to buy a sharpener for it... probably two (diamond and ceramic). And for what? My native has been in the drink with me many times to no ill effect.

Maybe I can "encourage" the gf to pick me up one of these for my b-day next week

I like a sheep foot design for EDC. The Meadowlark Rescue would also be a great option. The Cara Cara rescue is to large for every day carry for me.

To bad the Pelican is no longer in production but I picked up two from a reseller and they are great knives.

If funds allow it, look at the Centofante 4. One of my favorite Spyderco’s because of the Wharncliffe style tip and the thin blade.
