Looking for a production folder with a thin blade and a grind that lends itself to slicing.

Would prefer a flipper but not necessary

Blade over 3"
don't care about weight. If prefer a higher performing steel that favors edge retention.

Thanks

Someone is going to ask me to define "thin" so I'll cut that one off now.

Let's say thinner than a pm2 for reference.

I know. Sorry for the confusion. I posted it before refreshing and seeing your reply

I have a 0562 now. It's my favorite folder to date.

Maybe my perspective is skewed? I always figured the 0562 was a bit thick behind the edge?

For a thin slicer, hands-down, the Spyderco Endura, 3.75" x .125" blade, Full Flat Grind in VG10 or ZDP-189. And it comes in colors.

The grind on the ZT0562 is specifically called the Hinderer slicer grind! Straight from their own website:

"Zero Tolerance and Rick Hinderer teamed up to build the new 0562 with its exclusive Hinderer "slicer" grind."

Considering it is a flipper I would say it is a perfect fit for what you are looking for!

Roger that Whitty!

I've read that myself and love that knife. In my pocket now. Like i said, maybe I'm looking at "thinness " all wrong! Need to get the cf version next. You gots?

We are out of the CFs right now but have more coming soon I believe. We have the 452Cfs coming tomorrow!

Not sure of your price point - but the Spyderco Farid K2 is a very good slicer - with a FFG and it's nice and thin at the edge. It's also a big honkin' knife - sounds like you like that, as do I! The K2 is the only knife I am aware of that has a CPM-S10V blade steel - that is correct - S 10 V - do a little search on edge retention quality in that steel. ;^) The knife is made in Taiwan, I should add in case that matters.

The ZT0562 is also good - with the thinner edge grind, and at 3.5" blade it is larger than it seems when you carry it - great knife. On the CF version the blade steel is CTS204P - great steel, high end USA made product.

The ZT0452CF - also a great knife, with the Sinkevich design - great design and slices well since it is not a very tall blade. 4.1" blade too, so small it is not. The blade is ZT's S35VN - good stuff, no worries there.

And - just for fun, my ZT0562CF lying next to my Spyderco Farid K2 -

The 530's grind is thin but I found that for whatever reason the dagger grind style hindered slicing in actual use.

The Spyderco Endura and Microtech L-UDT are both ground very thin.

Blur
Slightly thinner blade then a pm2 but also the Hollow grind vs. PM2's Flat grind makes it even thinner behind the edge.

Just over 3 and a quarter inches

Svandik 14c27n (razor steel) is a great slicing steel!
(As are the other options of BDZ1, ELMAX, and s30v)

Not a flipper, but the assisted blade snaps open with just a right bit on pressure of the thumbstud making a flipper unnecessary IMO

For the price it's hard to beat IMHO.

Another sub $100 option

Boker+ urban trapper gives you an even thinner (0.10") hollow ground vg-10 blade...

Kershaw premium skyline gives you a 0.09" (flat ground)
s30v for right around $100

You could pretty much choose any Spyderco at random and end up with a great flat ground slicer, but my suggestion is always the Benchmade 940. Not a full flat ground blade, but for the overall package, you can't beat it. I must admit though that I am impossibly biased. But then, what 940 owner isn't?
