Help me find a new knife! (Update, got my knife!)

I avoid Benchmade like the plague personally. Overpriced for what you get. $100 for cheap plastic handles and 154cm? Back before the price gouge, the grip and mini grip started around $65.

I love Spyderco, but since you are avoiding them I will recommend ZT. I have the 0561, 0770 CF, and 0801. All great knives.

Kizer has some really nice knives in your price range. I love my Ki423.

The new Cold Steel folders with the upgraded CTS-XHP steel are really nice. I'd definitely take a look.

As for my decision, I honestly was really leaning towards the hest, however after reading a few too many negative reviews on the quality and the fact that the lock bar doesn't have a steel insert, I've decided to go with the 0562 I think. I also was pretty turned off when I heard about all the drama that unfolded here with RYP. Makes me second guess giving my money to someone like that. I Still really want a hest, I love it's looks. But since I am still relatively new to buying quality knives I don't have that many yet. So if I am going to make my first $150-$200 purchase I want something that I know for a fact will be of the highest quality. I'm going to save the esee for later, I do have a full size kabar tanto already.

Now I'm just going back and forth between the 562 and the 562cf. If I get the regular 562 I can also get an eagletac flashlight I want. I need a new EDC light, the one I'm looking at is decent. 800 lumen Max rating. $60. So I could get that and the 562 and be about on point money wise.

Just an update here, after some headache I just got my ZT 0562cf in today. Thanks for all the suggestions! I was going back and forth (like I seem to always do) so much. I am extremely satisfied with the knife so far, although I've only had it an hour! I'm not foreseeing any problems though... Hah.

Should have had it a little earlier though honestly, I had some issues trying to buy an online gift card from an Internet vendor. I was trying to go this route because I used paypals new credit line for the cash, which I couldn't send to my bank and my debit card. So anyways the online gyft card vendor's incompetent website lead to issues on their end and they cancelled my gift card and it took 9 days to get my refund! I was so pissed! But in the end I remembered National Knives took PayPal so since they had the knife in stock I went that route, and glad I did. Even though I have Amazon prime with free 2 day shipping, I ended up saving $5 going with national and I still got 2 day shipping since the price of the knife was cheaper! All in all it worked out well. Highly recommend national knives.

Still planning on getting the ESEE for sure, as well as a few suggestions here that people posted. And the hest 2.0 as well. The main reason I went with the ZT instead of the hest was basically because this was my most expensive knife purchase so far and I wanted to make sure I wasn't going to be dissapointed, now and the long run. I found more disconcerning things about the hest then I did with the 0562. And after all that, I'm glad I went with the ZT for even more reasons. The pictures just don't so it justice. Once I get back home I'll get some better close up pictures of everything and do a review possibly.
