I have sold off most all of my expensive knives due to a recent job loss and am in search of a small EDC suitable fixed blade.

I have an Izula I sometimes carry but I want something a little bigger. I considered an Izula II with scales or maybe a B-14 with scales, but since I already have the Izula, I was hoping for something a little different.

I'm find with carbon or stainless and want to keep the price under around $50 or so. I prefer American made if I can help it, though I'm not against Japanese or even Taiwanese, no Chinese though. European made is fine too. I have an Ahti Tikka I use for carving and such and it's an incredible little knife, but the handle is a little fat for EDC for my tastes.

Most of the use it would see would be EDC, light hikes (day hikes), some possible food prep, maybe a little light carving or trailside whittling, things like that.

Any thoughts?

Hmm, ill think on it and see what I come up with.

Custom would be my first answer but not for 50 bucks, ill search for something that fits the bill but no guarantee

Hard Edge Knives by Kelley Ward would be appropriate. His Little Squalls are right around that size and price and come in a variety of blade shapes. Usually posts new ones every week or two.

I was thinking custom also...

And maybe that will work!

I'm also looking at the A.G Russel Bird & Trout. I had one years ago and it was a great little knife. I just can't find one anywhere.

Also keep an eye on the custom exchange for Austin Goldman. Most of his knives are right hand chisel ground, but he does produce some that are Saber ground.

Why are you trying to sell items in a discussion forum? You've been here long enough to know better. If you want to sell ypur GSO, list it in the appropriate section.

Have you ever considered a kiridashi by chance?

I personally love them.

Edit: Cold Steel makes a decent one called the "mini tac kiridashi".
It's a nice looking blade.

Hardedge rocks. +1
Look at moras? I was also looking at green river? Or valley the other day, blanks anyway that you could wrap that were nice and cheap.

Sorry I edited my original post and removed that.

I decided on a Cold Steel Mini Pendleton Hunter. I use the full size as a game knife and I love it.

Thanks for all of the advice!
