Help me find another pen knife

I highly suggest you check out the Case 5279. It is stag instead of jigged bone, but go check it out. There are always a number of them for sale on the the big auction site. I carry one regularly; they are great. Just like the knife you showed, but stag.

Edit: I just saw your comment above about not looking for a senator. I believe the 5279 is a senator-type.

I'm still looking for just the right vintage pen knife, but I don't know exactly what specifically to be looking for.
Simply searching for " vintage pen knife " with various descriptors on Ebay isn't proving very productive, and I need a make or something more specific
I'm looking for a typical equal end shadow pattern pen, jigged bone, carbon steel blades, none of those deep plunge line type swedges.
Basically like this Camillus that I love so much, but of course with jigged bone covers.

I had a very nice Boker USA but couldn't get used to the looks of the tip bolsters or the swedge on the main blade.
I don't know why but I can't recall ever seeing a deep swedged spear blade I liked the looks of.

So what brands should I be looking for?
I Don't particularly care whether it's American made or German really.

Robeson?
Utica ?

Check out Brückmann knives. I have never handled one but I hear that they are high quality. They made some shadow patterns, typically 3 3/8 to 3 5/8" length.

I just looked and didn't see exactly what I want yet, but they seem promising.
Thanks for the lead.

I have not given up on this search yet but am leaning towards the recover option.
I found a good candidate for $10 on Ebay, and I think the recover is going to be the best way to go.

I think Bruckmann pen knives would be right up your alley. They are really nice, vintage, and can be picked up for a good price. I have a couple I acquired for a friend. If I remember I will post a picture in the morning.

Here is a photo example of one on that auction site.

I definitely like the blades, that pen blade especially.
I currently have a shadow pattern in mind, but after I've checked the shadow pen off my list I may eventually be looking for a " senator " style pen knife like this with bolsters.
full bolsters of course, tip bolsters are definitely out for me.

I'm waiting for the seller to respond to an offer I threw at that $10 knife, after they either accept or I just pay the $10 and receive the knife I'll reach out to Glennbad and see if he's taking work right now.

Sorry for the horrible picture. Bruckmanns come in a variety of shadow patterns as well.

Yeah, searching the bay is tough
And everyone else, including the search engines. Their Artificial "Intelligence" are still learning.

I can (do) type in exactly what I want at say the "big jungle named after its big river" site ... sometimes the specific features have to be listed in the "proper" place, and in the "proper" order.

I tried searching ePrey for a specific vintage 3 speed internal geared 3 speed bicycle crank. Nothing but 3 ring cranks. Even including who I think made them (Bendix) does not help.
(I had one of those (then new) cranks on my (then old) chrome plated 60 pound Western "middle weight" bike, back in 19 and 74/ 19 and 75. It helped getting up the hills without walking. I want one for my Miami Sun adult trike to make it a 21 speed.

Also, when searching ePrey for a "slingshot" you get no relevant results unless you search for a "slingshot catapult". 🤨🙄

Hopefully this PAL proves as promising of a candidate when I receive it.
The blades look good, and the covers are Celluloid which would need to go anyways.

I just don't know whether or not I'd want to keep the bail.
I'm leaning towards leaving it off, but am open to suggestions.

Look for some John Primble or some Boker 210, 220 or 230

Leave it on and rescale this beauty with ebony.
the goal from the beginning has always been stag or jigged bone, but I will take that as one vote for keeping the bail.
I am leaning towards nixing the bail because I think it would be in the way when using the pen blade, but I do like bails so I'm just not sure.
I probably want no bail , then try something with a bail next time.

These are older Boker made John Primbles. Keep looking and you will find what you're after,

I had the 1st one in a standard Boker, but I didn't like the cut swedge so I moved it along.

Did they offer a shadow pattern ?
I don't want bolsters.

I received that PAL pen knife, and it's definitely not the candidate I had hoped it would be.
The blades are quite canted which is a major disqualifier for me.
