Help me find my first Busse...the NMSFNO

Hi Guys and Gals,

I have been a long time lurker on Blade forums (particularly in the sharpening/crafting department) but have finally registered on here now. I'm pretty impressed by the trust and character shown by many of the members here.

I'll cut to the chase (no pun intended)-I may have some big hunting/fishing trips coming up in Alaska and other places and have decided it's time to step up my game and upgrade my gear- in this case my knife.

I am pretty tall standing at 6ft 3 and have hands the size of a mid sized gorilla... thus many knife handles simply don't fit me. I am in need of a large camp/survival utility blade in which to supplement with my Fallkniven F1.

Based on this criteria, I have narrowed it down to the Busse NMSFNO. The problem I am having however is that I can't seem to find one for the life of me...
I plan on using this knife- so collectibility is not an issue.

One pops up on the Exchange every once in a while I've seen but unless you respond insanely fast..you tend to miss out.

SO, if any of you know of anyone or anyway for me to get my hands on one of these at a decent/reasonable price then I would really appreciate it. Feel free to send me a message/PM/email, whatever works best for a registered member.

Post a thread in the want to buy section, it wouldn't hurt.

And depending when your trip is, and where you live, there could be a gun and knife show around you that Busse might attend. Mike usualy does Ohio and Indiana and almost always has one NMSFNO in some flavor.

Don't be put off by the appearance of the Want to Buy forums. Since only paid members can sell, only paid members can see other members' Want to Buys. When you go there, it will look unused, but you will be ale to see your own thread, and any responses to it.
 
Well, if I recall right the Indy 1500 is a couple days before Blade, so, June 3-5. And theres usually a show in Ohio a week before Indy.

But anyway, Mike, thatmguy, almost always has some sort of NMSFNO, last show he had one with a tanker grey blade and blue/black G-10. I got my first Busse from him (a NMSFNO).

I just occured to me though.

Mike probably won't be at the 1500 or any Ohio shows in the begining of June for family reasons.

(Insert Homer Simpson "Doh!" moment here)

Nice blade man!

Busse Knives are beautiful enough just to keep in the safe...but I bet they are even better to use :)
 
welcome to the forum! You're gonna love your NMSFNO. Only thing to think about is what you want next after that.
 
For a lurker, you must have done your homework, that's a great overall camp knife if you were to have only one. Good luck with your search.
 
Thanks all- I'm hoping I don't catch the Busse itch too bad once I finally get it... I caught "BRD" (black rifle disease) a while back... and we'll, things have never been the same :)
 
Prepare yourself to pay 100 + $$$ exstra from the original price, at least.

SirSteve, Esav Benyamin was very kind in his advice to point you in the direction of the WTB sub-forum as it is against the rules to post WTB's in discussion forums on BladeForums.com...

As expected, the smell of this thread leads me to the scent of others looking to "hook you up", and all I can say is that whoever did, I sure hope that they gave you a fair deal.

Thanks for the warm welcome!

I truly did not mean to do a "WTB" type thread here, I just didn't know how the other sub forum worked (since I couldn't see anything heh). I really just wanted some help in where on earth to find one... the NMSFNO is an elusive beast it seemed..haha.

Everyone is being very helpful though and gave me a few leads. Hopefully I'll get it nailed down soon with someone via the WTB section. Feel free to do whatever necessary/you want to this thread. BF rocks!
