Help Me Identify This Spyderco

Hi there,
A few days ago while we were having dinner, a friend of mine offered me a piece of his "bocadillo" so I pulled out my Centofante III and cut it cleanly in half, cleaned it right away and put it back in my pocket. Then another friend of mine looked at me and told me: "Hey! I go one that looks just like that but it is bigger and has stainless handles!". I answered: "No way, you got to be kidding me! Where did you get it? How much did you pay for it? And last but not least, what are you doing with an Spyderco?" I was so surprised because he is not at all into knives. Well... arround here none is into knives (besides me). Here comes the funniest part (I had to sit down while listening to him). Seems like he found it in the floor of the gym's locker room when he was about to go home long ago. I went nuts. So I payed 100 Euros for a Centofante III here and this sucker got "it" for free? I got to fix this.

I asked him to email me and send me the most accurate description of it (blade engravings and such). He sent me this picture and told me that SPYDERCO AUS 6 is engraved in the blade:

I need your help to identify this knife. So far I guess it could be an old Endura with stainless steel handles (no idea of the size, just that it is bigger than my Centofante so it can't be a Delica). The blade is straight so it can't be a new Endura 4, plus it is AUS 6, plus I can't see extra holes for tip up/down left/right carry neither I can appreciate any Boye Dent.

Can you guys tell me which model this knife is and how old is it? And... just in case he asks me about how much is it worht it... uh... how much it could cost me to get one just like that there in the States?
I will probably try to trade it for a NIB SAK (probably one of the bigger models but just a few blades). He doesn't use the Spyderco at all, but he is a friend of mine and I don't want to leave him knifeless just in case he goes camping or something. I guess a SAK is probably a better value for him (can openner, screwdrivers and such).
Thanks a lot,
Mikel

So it is an Endura II in AUS 6 and SS handles... nice... Thanks a lot guys! I was just curious about the price so as to tell my friend about it. I just recieved a brand new Endura 4 (5 days shipping from the States) and it looks great. If I get a hold on that Endura II I don't plan on giving it much use. Will that steel hold and edge at all?
Mikel

The Endura I is FRN with molded clip, the Endura II is the old-style SS handled piece with RH only clip, the Endura III is FRN with a barrel bolt clip, Endura 4 is the current production, either FRN or SS with 4 way clip option. There are other differences, but those are the easiest to identify.

Thanks, Yablanowitz. The above mentioned vendor apparently has three's listed as two's and I couldn't figure it out.
Wouldn't mind getting two or three!

Some people like the threes better than the fours. I happen to be one of them ;)

I never had the chance of handling a III neither a II, so if it is in good condition I may get it just for the hell of it. I have just one more knife in AUS 6 (Stiff Kiss by CRKT) and I don't like it much but maybe it is just a matter of the chisel grind. I guess it is worth a try. Thanks a lot guys!
Mikel

PD: That SS handles seem terrific for engraving (for a gift I mean).

And a few like the original better than the three, either because of the handle shape, or because they prefer the integral FRN clip, or because it's a bit lighter.

However, when the comparison is between the II and the all stainless version of the IV - only a very small handful would give up VG-10 and choose AUS-6 in order to avoid the six extra clip screw holes. Mind you, AUS-6 is a very good steel - VG-10 is just an even better one.

Thanks Deacon. Being a good steel with those corrosion resistan properties, it may well be the one to keep in our Zodiac when we go spearfishing (I hope none drops it tip first...). So far I have just handled an Endura 4 but I can't wait to see that Endura II.
