Hi there,
A few days ago while we were having dinner, a friend of mine offered me a piece of his "bocadillo" so I pulled out my Centofante III and cut it cleanly in half, cleaned it right away and put it back in my pocket. Then another friend of mine looked at me and told me: "Hey! I go one that looks just like that but it is bigger and has stainless handles!". I answered: "No way, you got to be kidding me! Where did you get it? How much did you pay for it? And last but not least, what are you doing with an Spyderco?" I was so surprised because he is not at all into knives. Well... arround here none is into knives (besides me). Here comes the funniest part (I had to sit down while listening to him). Seems like he found it in the floor of the gym's locker room when he was about to go home long ago. I went nuts. So I payed 100 Euros for a Centofante III here and this sucker got "it" for free? I got to fix this.
I asked him to email me and send me the most accurate description of it (blade engravings and such). He sent me this picture and told me that SPYDERCO AUS 6 is engraved in the blade:
I need your help to identify this knife. So far I guess it could be an old Endura with stainless steel handles (no idea of the size, just that it is bigger than my Centofante so it can't be a Delica). The blade is straight so it can't be a new Endura 4, plus it is AUS 6, plus I can't see extra holes for tip up/down left/right carry neither I can appreciate any Boye Dent.
Can you guys tell me which model this knife is and how old is it? And... just in case he asks me about how much is it worht it... uh... how much it could cost me to get one just like that there in the States?
I will probably try to trade it for a NIB SAK (probably one of the bigger models but just a few blades). He doesn't use the Spyderco at all, but he is a friend of mine and I don't want to leave him knifeless just in case he goes camping or something. I guess a SAK is probably a better value for him (can openner, screwdrivers and such).
Thanks a lot,
Mikel
