Help me out with my PSK!!!

I carry both the saw and SAK. They both have their own uses. I bought a Coast brand saw from Academy. $10 and weighs next to nothing. Unless you are planning to hike the PCT, the weight of both should be considered negligible, IMHO.

Also, I don't know if I missed it, but I carry some form of food source for even a short day hike. Just in case. Maybe something that keeps well like jerky or summer sausage and hard cheese. Anything to supply a few calories.

Another thing I carry I picked up at CVS. I grabbed a handful of the DEET bands and put them on my pack straps when I go out. It keeps the bug spray off of me and I have found that our wonderful Texas skeeters can't handle them.

I have also recently added a couple of carabiners and bungees because you never know, as well as some duct tape. I carry a deck of cards as well to keep myself and mind distracted if I end up in a real bad situation.

I cannot get the pic to load right now, but if you look up my SN on flickr, you can see a pic of my pack. Looks good though.

I think your kit is rounding out nicely now with all these suggestions. I throw one in too. How about adding some rubber bike inner tube for those stubborn days were fires are hard to lite. Of course you already have PJCB, but it would also be nice to have that extra means of starting a fire.

Thanks for all the suggestions guys. I did have a few Cliff bars in there and some duct tape around my water bottle.

Thanks for the link for the cup.

Looking pretty good! I'd consider adding a thrash bag and a bandana, but I think you have the basics pretty well covered!
