My wife is scheduled to be induced with our third child at 8 a.m. on Friday. We don't know the sex of the baby.

My problem is we are having a hard time choosing a boy name. We have a girl name chosen. I am looking for your suggestions. I'm a fairly plain guy so no names with 39 consonants. :D Thanks.

josh...the first name that came to me was alex.....congratulations......i wish you and your wife all the best!.....ryan

For a Smith who's the son of a smith.....
How about James Moran Smith..?

And Congratulations..!

Congrats Josh!

Aidan and Liam were at the top of our boy-name list. We had a girl.

Roger

I once knew a fellow named Steele, and I thought it was a cool, strong name. Different but not ridiculosly so. Also, it would be a perfect name for a knifemaker's kid!!!

It's funny because my middle name is James. I had actually considered Cutler James Smith but I don't think we'll go with that.

Here's the list we're thinking about. Do any stand out to you?
Brad
Matt
Kyle
Mark (my Dad's first name?
Levi
Hank
Bridger
Wyatt
Carson

Josh, congratilations to your wife and you. Our son's name is Marc so I'm biased:thumbup:;)

One of the other names of our list back then was Brandan ..... but my wife voted against it:D

Marcel

Congrats to you and your wife!

I know it may seen cliche but the first name I though of was
Cole

From your list I like
Kyle and Bridger

I am to indecisive to come up with a name, but congratulations Josh! When are you gonna forge a family blade with all of your names?

Edited to add: Congratulations to you and (more to the point) your wife.

I like boy names with 1 syllable. I think they come across better. I also like the idea of staying away from family names because there's too much potential to upset one or the other, and I also don't want to box a kid in a legacy he had no voice in choosing.

We named our son Miles. This is latin for soldier, which is certainly something he won't be ashamed of. His second name is Leo - lion in latin.

My other choice after Miles was Max, and I also liked some strong, simple traditional names - John, Paul, Louis, etc.

I do like the old testament multisyllable names, in contradiction to my general liking of simple names. If I were to give a long name to a son it could be something like Jeremiah, or some names from the old testament - Josiah, etc.
