So ive had my first and only busse for a few months now, the ASH2 and ive really loved it, its definitely been beaten and abused and keeps asking for more.

Looking to get a smaller blade to accompany it in the 5 to 7 inch range.

Some ones ive been looking at are the TGLB, TGLB-M, badger attack, hell razor variant, and ASH1.

So, what say you? which would you choose to be your mid size all around knife? doesnt need to be a chopper as the ASH2 handles that with ease. Looking for something a little easier to carry and can still do whatever task might arise while out in the woods.

Was leaning to the TGLB-M for now but i also like this trailing point hell razor i found as well.

Thanks.

Why well....ASH1 of course... ;) My second vote goes to the BATAC and then the BAe in that size range :D

Take a look at a Boss Jack or Infidu. The SOB is a touch under 5", but a great utility blade.

If you can find one, I'd seriously consider a B8. Despite the name, the cutting edge is only around 6.5", the overall length is about the same as many 7" blades, and it's probably as light as most Busse 5" blades. It's a great all-rounder.

I also like my SARGE-7 and SAR6, although the SAR6 is quite heavy for its size - not necessarily what I'd go for if weight were a big issue.

OTOH, if you're certain you don't need to chop or slash, then I wouldn't go for anything bigger than an INFIdu.

And if you're looking for something to actually carry along with the ASH2, then I would go for something much smaller still - a 3-4" blade or just a folder. I never understand why people would want to pair a large knife with a medium-sized knife.

TGLB, BT6, or ASH1. All great knives in their own right. Hard to choose just one... ;)

Just jumping into my mind in that range are the SAR5, Any of the Mandu series (probably be my pick), and the SYKCO 511 which is basically a RMD blade with a Res-C handle. The boss jack is a nice choice as well... Satin Jack Tac is basically a BATAC with a longer blade. It's also a great knife. Good luck in your decision. :D

The 511 is one of my favorites. If you want a little more blade length, both the Boss Jack and Satin Jack TAC are nice. The 511 blade is 3/16" thick (~.19"), the BJ is .18" (LE) or .22" (CG), and the SJTAC is .19" (CG) or .22" (LE).

Like the others said All blades mentioned are great, i think id go buy Availability, and Cost, also the Thickness you prefer would play a roll, some of the mentioned blades come in few thickness others only in 1.
If it was up to me, and all 5 were available, these would be my top 5.
ASH-1
INFIDU
SOB
HG-55 (or the Soon arriving Grudge LE)
BT-6
(Pork Shank)
But than I havent handled any Tac handles yet, and HR

If you were open to Swamp Rats and SYKCOs I'd add the Regulator 6.5, Rodent 6,7, and Jackmandu. Only if the Mil Regulator and Parked Regulator are too big... might as well mention the Taliwhacker LE too :)

Sounds like you want something lighter and thinner.
There is a pork shank + sheath in the exchange right now (not mine)!

Brummie nailed it. Don't bother with a mid sized knife if you have an ASH2.

Surpised there wasn't a mention of CABS LE yet. The best all round knife Busse makes!
