Help me pick a frame lock flipper for EDC

The ZT0450 is an awesome knife and I think you will be happy with it. I carry a ZT0808 and it to me feels a little tougher, definitely weighs more and it can take a beating. Still classy enough to carry anywhere but great for about any use you can think of. Either way you go with a ZT I don't think you will be dissatisfied.

Quick update:
1) I still think the 0450 is my preferance
2) I did just pull a trade for my ADV butcher where I wll get a NIB ZT 808 and NIB bento box Spyderco Domino with blue g10 and 204p steel.
3) when those both get here I will play with them and pick the one I like better (semi finals)
4) unless on l am totally blown away by one I will then sell the one I like less and buy a ZT 0450 to compare against the one I keep. (super bowl)
5) from that I will have the wining new EDC blade champion!!!

I'll keep you posted!

I have a ZT 0450 and like it fine...but the handle feels a little too slim in my hand, and i have average sized hands
Not a fan of the Domino; it's only a so-so flipper and the pocket profile is huge. It's a very heavy, chubby feeling knife with a ridiculously short cutting edge.
I love my Gemini, but as others have said, it's not readily available at this time. There are also some QC concerns that seem to be simmering regarding some of the most recent Kizer knives. I know I'm kind of waiting and watching before adding more Kizers to my collection. Kizer's growth has been the fastest I think I've ever seen from a knife company, so we may be seeing some evidence of growing pains.
Love my LionSteel G10TRE and Southern Grind Spider Monkey...the Spider Monkey in particular is an incredible blade!

Consider perhaps looking at the ZT 0808. It's only a little bigger than the 0450 but seems to fit in my hand a lot easier. It flips a little better too. The grip on the 0450 is so thin, many people have a hard time gripping and flipping without depressing the lock bar. YMMV.

If you're looking for a Shiro-type-look without the Shiro-type-price, check out the RealSteel Sea Eagle. The Diskin designed Kershaw Strobe is an awesome knife of similar style also.

Also, consider purchasing either the 0450 or 0808 from USAMadeBlade. Awesome service and some wonderful custom anodize jobs for no additional cost. They've got some sweet 0450's and 0808's available right now.

(No, I don't work for them or get kickbacks :p)

Good luck and enjoy your purchase! Check back to let us know what you decided.

I had an 0450 for a while and liked it a lot, ended up trading it though and I'm currently carrying the domino. I have to say, between those two it's going to come down to feel and preference, I much prefer the domino, it fits in my hand wonderfully and I like the leaf shaped blade. I haven't handled the Kizer so I can't help there...

Final update:
1) passed on trying out the Gemini after hearing some of the recent Kizer concerns
2) I aquired a zt 0808 and domino in a trade
3) I then traded the 0808 for a 0450 and am 100% keeping the 0450 as my go to edc

Thoughts:
I prefer the 0450 over the 0808:
While the 808 is slightly heavier I did not feel like you got more grip comfort for the increase. The 0450 is so much more ergonomic IMHO because:
- slightly larger flipper (but I could handled the size of the 808 it was not a huge deal to me)
-jimping on the blade. I don't think jimping is a must but when the knife is that small I appreciate it as just extra space for your grip
-contorted handle fits great in hand
- beveled edges make it smoother
Blade shape I prefer the more standard 0450 but I could see utility in the 808 if you like that. I was not a huge fan of the backspacer on the 808 either. Added weight. Kind of weird how it half hung out and too smooth and shinny for my taste. I do think the 808 is a solid knife just not for me.

I also think the domino is great. I find no fault in the knife and if you like leaf shaped spydies it's def awesome. It is obviously larger than the 0450 also. I did appreciate how easy it was to open with both the flipper and the spydie hole however, I will sell that also.

I am going to stick with just my 0450 and shirogorov 95 as my small and large EDC's and be a happy man. It's a russian pair for me.
