help me pick a heavy duty folder

I was here one night when someone was touting thier knife that could be driven through concrete and didnt harm any part of the knife. Id recomend that knife, I think Tim made it, or maybe it was Alan

Many fine knives suggested here. Without the price limitation, you can not beat the Sebenza.

For "heavy cutting and very frequent use I would go with the old, faithful Buck and have Pete's Custom Knife Shop do you one in BG-42 bladesteel.

All of the other suggestions, IMO, sacrifice some utility and durability/servicability for ease of carry, slim profile or light weight. These considerations may be important to you, though not mentioned in your post. The 110 is designed to be carried in a sheath. Some people do not want to carry a sheath. One handed opening is important to many people.

Your post mentions heavy use. If you can live a sheath and old fashioned opening, the Buck 110 with BG-42 would be very hard, if not impossible to beat in your budget limit.

Matt, back when I did farm work and had horses the only knives I used were an Eye Brand stockman and Sodbuster, and at the time I don't think there was anything better.
About a year ago I started collecting and using the old Al Mar SEREs. They are all I've used for the past year and if the SERE 2000 hadn't come out, I would still be using them.
I think the SERE 2000 is the best using knife p come along in the last decade. The only thing that might make it better is an axis lock, then it would be truly ambi. For the last couple of weeks at work I've been cutting a lot of plastic straps, wrapping, and cardboard. It's not still shaving sharp, but it sure is cutting sharp. I'll probably touch up the ege this weekend. Plastic baling twine ca't be much harder on an edge.
The knive is no-slip, has a guard, and the liner is fail-safe so far. I wish they were out 25 years ago.
You should look into getting one.

OH YEAH...TopofTexas has hem one special right now for $112.00

No, I have no affiliation with TOT, etc.etc. but he has the best deal right now.

Hope I haven't been to pushy, but get one or you will wish you had.

Ok guys, I appreciate all the ideas and will be checking them out as soon as I get the chance.
Now you can all get busy helping herman find a woman. You probably should add a few more things to his criteria. She needs to be able to put up with lots of whining, and every sentence she says must be completely original for fear of herman getting bored. Apparently he's either being serious, or he ran out of things to b*tch about and is making a desperate attempt to keep his hard won image as an a*shole. Thats allright herman I'm sure they'll find you a woman real soon
