Help me pick a new EDC!

I understand what you mean about the Griptillian "grip". For me, it is just too fat. I would highly suggest either a Delica or a Native for general 3"ish EDC use.

Just my guess but if he wants something easier to close a Spydy lock back isn't what he wants. Take a look at CRKT they have a butt load of knives in your price range.

Well, crap! I thought I had a trade, but the guy had a 555 Mini-Grip, when I'm looking for a 556 Mini-Grip...Damn...:(.

Spyderco Delica Endura or Native. If you can find one a Gerber EZ-Out in ATS 34 is a good choice but ONLY the ATS-34 version.

I'll jump on the bandwagon and also recommend the Griptilian 551 or Mini-Griptilian 556.
I prefer the drop-point Grips rather than the modified sheepsfoot because the thumb-studs work better for me and they have a pointier tip (YMMV).

I just bought a yellow Mini and I really like the color. It looks like a tool rather than a weapon.
Now I'll order the bright green one.

Happy hunting,
Allen.

Ok you convinced me to give the Mini-Griptilian another feel, and I liked it.

I selected the 555S: sheep's foot, combo edge, black handle. The best price froogle could find for me (from a shop that actually had it in stock) was $63.50 shipped, from Seattle Edge.

It needed a drop of Militec on the pivot to open and close smoothly and now it's like butter. It's definately got the one-hand thing going. A big step up from my CS Voyager in that regard. :D

Thanks to all who replied!

Hope you like it. Wouldn't have been my choice, but it is still a great knife. :)

Two words of advice though:
1. You will more then likely find the combo edge to be more of a problem then a solution... Combo edges on this knife leave you with 1.5 inches of blade for each edge type. That is quite a tiny blade!! On folders usually people go for either fully serrated or plain edge. (Most people by far prefer plain edge becuase it's more versatile.)
2. Your price is a bit high. I just checked on New Graham and they are selling for $53.12.

Good luck with the knife though, and hopefully you will be buying plenty more in the future.
