Help me pick a Sebenza!

Hey all! So, I have decided I want to buy a Sebenza, I'm not sure what size though. I love my mini griptillian and I know that its quite close in size to the small sebbie. The problem is that the mini grip is a bit uncomfortable in hand. I could never find out if its because its just small or the shape of the handle. The point is that I want to get a small sebenza, but I fear it will be a bit small. On the other hand I have a spydie para2 and its handle (not counting the choil) fits my hand VERY comfortable. So I'm wondering if anyone has a picture of the para2, and a large and small sebbie together.. If not it isn't a big deal but it would give me a good reference on size. Thanks everyone!!

I also added in a full size griptillian with aftermarket scales for a different size reference.

P.S. Sorry about the terrible phone photos. I saw the thread and took these quick comparison shots.

If you'd like better photos i can post again tomorrow with a better camera and some natural light.

Good Luck on your search!

Buy the small.. You'll then want and buy a large. Buy the large... You'll then want and buy the small. My recommendation, get them both and carry either for your anticipated daily situations

They are both correct. I purchased the large and 2 weeks later I purchased the small. Its inevitable that you will end up with both. That being said, I personally like larger knives and can imagine that the Large Insingo will get more pocket time. Although I'm not as opposed to carry the small even though some might consider it more collectible.

If I fall in love with it then I plan on buying both, but money is tight right now and I can't just buy 2 sebenzas like that. Im leaning more towards the large based on those photos.

Based on these photos I'm leaning more towards the large because its around the size of the para2 handle. Thank you for the pictures!!

I've never owned either, however I did get to handle a small sebenza at a knife shop. It was nice, but pretty small. At that price range I'd probably try to get the most knife for the money.

Here's some popular knives with Large and Small sebbies for reference.

That's a Wilkins MiniGrip on right. I keep coming back to the small Insingo but you're going to end up trying both sizes. It doesn't really matter where you start. I recommend you pick up either in the exchange.

I would recommend the large. The small is too small for me. Bought one and sold it the next day. If you like the PM2 then you will like the large. Good luck.

The age old dilemma. I started with a large, but now I prefer.............? They both are great knives. The choice is tough because the large is not too big, and the small is not too little. For me, the small follows me everywhere and the large tags along when I head into the woods. Hence my reply: "Get both".

I bought the small first, carry a large most days..if you're set on a small..I would make it an Insingo.

Just curious, to anybody with experience the micarta inlays. I live in Louisiana so its REALLY hot during the summer, and hot=alot of sweat (especially since i work outside) does a lot of sweat make the micarta stink/become gross? If so I'm leaning toward the large insingo...

The Micarta will soak up oils from your hands and will turn the inlays black with time but they are very easy to clean with some warm soapy water and a toothbrush. I don't have a plain Jane but I've held one and I like the Micarta better, it seems to add more grip. I'd say you'd be please with with Large Insingo Micarta

But I don't want to be cleaning my knife every other day, I'm only asking because I've had experiences of paracord starting to stink and become gross after a few hot summer days..

I'm near the Gulf in Southwest Louisiana. The micarta has no issues with the heat and humidity down here. CRK's aren't my only knives with micarta. The great thing about the linen micarta is that you can wash it with soap and water to get the sweat/oils out of it and will not hurt the micarta. Can't say I've had an sweat stink on one of them.

The Micarta is coated with resin I think? So it doesn't wick too much smell or fluid, just enough to darken the color of it.

#1 pick-Large
#2 pick -Small

But as everyone said you will like the Large so much you will buy the small to round out all your needs.

There is no production knife at this price point that compares to the Sebenza. There are some mid techs that are more than double triple the price.. But the seb rules.
