I get one knife for my collection. My birthday! :)

What do I get guys? $150'ish price tag and a folder. I want something around 4" blade and sturdy enough for all around EDC and "improbable" defensive use in case a zombie would strike!

I'm looking at the:

Spyderco Military

Benchmade Osborne Kulgera

Nothing else is really on my mind right now but those two and the Military seems redundant to my "police" model listed below.

I own:

Benchmade Osborne 940

Benchmade Large Griptlian

Benchmade 890 Torrent

Spyderco Police

Spyderco Tenacious

CS Large Voyager Clip Point

CS Large Voyager Tanto

CS Ti-Lite 4"

Assorted Fixed Blades and some autos (don't need anymore of this group)

Ill suggest spyderco paramilitary--its a cool knife:)

No bm 710? you need one of those:)

Perhaps a spyderco caly 3?

All three are great knives I think you would enjoy:)

Oh yes if you don't have a 710 you need one, its one of those knives that are a measuring stick for all other knives. It is everything a knife should be.

I vote for the Red Benchmade 960:

It's on my list.

I just searched them and the BM 710 D2 is only $117 plus shipping. It's kind of ugly but looks like a definite possibility.

The Spyderco Caly 3 & Paramilitary are just too small for my taste. I have a few small folders and I don't like them all that much.

Thanks guys, I'll keep that 710 in my mind and watch the video reviews of the 710 again as I don't remember all the details.

I'm kind of tired with messing around with BM's axis lock settings. My cheap Cold Steel knives lock up fast and tight & no fooling around with adjustments either. I've had them a long time and they work - your mileage may vary. :)

No way on the Tyrade (butt ugly & small) and the 960 is way too small (pretty though)

I mean no disrespect please don't be offended I appreciate any comments!

You think the Para Military is small? Do you have gorilla hands or something?

To each his own, I guess. :)

Well, actually I do have large hands. That's what's scaring me off of the 710 - the thumbstud is so darn tight to the grips.

The little Osborne is very tough for me to deploy but it's a cute & precision pocket knife.

The Spyderco Tenacious, while small, has a nice big hole for easy opening and a lot of steel blade for a little knife.

Also, I've trained in FMA for 24 yrs now and I like the feel of some blade and handle length in my hand. If I had to use one for a self defense purpose, I would want a lot of steel in my fist.

The Police model feels good to me! The Military is probably good too. I have big pockets and they don't bother me to carry.

I'm wondering if the Military or the 710 have steel liners also. Gonna check youtube review on them to find out.

Thanks and keep them coming if you care to I love the attention :o

I don't know where you saw the measurements for the Tyrade but it is definitely not small.

I suggest the Benchmade 950. By far my favorite knife. I also really like the AXIS lock but it sounds like you may not. However, you may want to try some locktite on your pivot bolt because once I get mine adjusted I don't have any issues and I have gotten to the point I don't really like other locking devices.

The millie is a great first choice, I think its very different from the police and one of the best pocket knives money can buy. I see you like BM's have you looked at the 760? Ti frame lock and CPM-M4 steel, its a little thick in the blade but still a great knife.

Lots of choices out their, good luck and happy bday.

Gotta get a 710. A Benchmade Rukus if you can find one is nice.

And the Spyderco Military is a must have if you are looking for a 4" knife. It has replaced my Police G10 model.

Try an Emerson Super CQC7, CQC10, CQC13, or since you have FMA, a Super Kerambit.

You've got a pretty respectable collection going as it is; a good variety of lock types, steels, etc.

You should go for something you don't have yet. For my recommendation: go for an Emerson. I've got a CQC-10, and I can't kill it. For a $150. budget, one will show up sooner or later on the For Sale By Owner forums.

thx - cpr

stormyone - you've got my number,

I want all three of them now! Darn it I like that Ruckus and the Military too, the 710 still looks hard to deploy with big thumbs! This is great it's like a kid in a candy store!

Butt ugly is a matter of opinion and I guess small could just be a matter of perspective, but I'd like know what you call a big pocket knife.
