ok I have a dilemma... I want them all :D

I am looking for help picking a new EDC/backpacking knife. I would rather stick with a PE at this point but it's not set in stone. I want something that is comfortable to carry all day, won't ever let me down, and looks good too. I want quick open (assisted is a plus) and a killer lock that I can hang from. Feel free to add other suggestions; this is just what I have come up with thus far. I'm hoping to get something sub $150.

What I am considering thus far:
BM:
BM 710HS
BM 425BK

Sypderco:
Para
Native FRN
ATR C70BK

CS:
Recon 1 CP

CRKT:
M16-01K

SOG:
Trident TF-3
Rainbow Flash I (its so pretty!!)

I know it’s a lot of knives. Please help. Also, please add some explanation with your choice/s.

TIA

Any of them are good. I personally don't like SOG knives, and CRKT and CS are only good as beaters, IMO. The BM 710 and Spyderco Paramilitary are the best everyday users on your list. (totally my opinion). I like the ATR, but it has increadibly uncomfortable handles to me. The blade shape is nice, though, and the compression lock is outstanding.

I've been thinking of getting a sog rainbow flash for a while... it's very shiney.

Out of that list I would go with the 710HS since it might not be around much longer, I'd also get it even if was going to be around for eternity. Second choice would be the Para.

710 or Para as well is my vote.

I'd get the Para over the 710, if it fits your hand. I was pretty excited about the possibility of getting one, but when I handled it it the handle was just a little too small for me. I was lusting after a Manix anyways, and when I held that I knew it was the right one for me. Too bad, as I really am impressed with Spyderco's compression lock.

Get a BM 710 or a Spyderco Manix.

I've used my 710 (it's not the HS, but that's ok with me) for camping and backpacking, and it is great for camp chores, food prep, etc. It's definitely equally at home in the woods as it is in the city, which is more than I can say about some of my EDC knives (Spyderco Police, for example).

I've also relied heavily on my Emerson CQC-10 when out in the the woods, and I have to say that it works very well for camping-related tasks as well.

Peace.

I really liked the Al Mar Knives SERE 2000 - Black Blade... that is a nice looking tool. However, I think I am going to go with the BM710HS. I saw on BM's website that they are out of production, and I feel like I shouldn't miss my chance to own one. I will likely end up getting the para too... and some others... ARGGG!!!! If only I had 10s of thousands of dollars to blow on knives.

Thanks everyone. I appreciate the help! Feel free to come over and play with it when I get it. ;)
