Help me pick tires.

I'm a fan of the BF Goodrich All-Terrain TA tires. I use them now on the F350, although they wouldn't be my first choice if I regularly hauled heavy loads or drove long distances on the highway. Used them for years on the old F150 (size 31x10.5r15), and have experience with them on Jeep Cherokees and similar SUVs. Good in snow. Good in mud. Good handling for highway use, and not too noisy either.

Firestone runs really good deals a times. I got a set of Firestone Destination tires for 600.00 out the door with road hazard. They have been really good tires. I have a Dodge Dakota with 16in rims.

Mickey Thompson MTXs! You get that awesome Mickey Thompson side biter tread and they aren't so aggressive it sounds like a plane taking off when you are on the highway. Had the same set for 4 years. Loved them. Not too pricey if you shop around. Might have to order them depending on what size you are looking for. I got a 31X11.5 and loved the look and everything about them. Had them on some Centerline Hellcats and it looked mean. Plus the Hellcats were 15X8.5s so they stuck out just that extra bit with the 31x11.5s. Awesome combination. If looking for something easier Id just go with BFG All Terrains. Can't go wrong with those. G.L. Bro.

I ran goodyear duratracs on my Bronco. Decent tires, did well in the rain. Wore like hell though and got louder as the miles racked up on them.

I am currently running the goodyear wrangler kevlar tires. Not as aggressive as the duratrac but I like them better.

If this is a truck that doesnt see a lot of miles and you want true off road performance skip all the highway mud tires and go straight to the super swamper ssr's or something along those lines. They are loud and ride like hell but the traction in mud is awesome.

I have put Bridgestone Dueler AT Revo (2)'s on every truck I have had for the past 10 years. Really good wet traction, good (for the 5% of the time I take it off road) all terrain ability, and last pretty long, at least 45000-50000 on the few I have had that long.

That said, I have some Michelin LTX MS I think on my F150, that were on it when I bought it 30000 miles ago, that have held up as well, but for about $30-50 a tire more they should.

If the truck is nearing the end of it's life, I wouldn't be too pickey about tires. Look around for used. Often times, people buy a truck and don't like the tires that came with it. You may be able to get a good deal on a set of these. I've let a few sets go pretty cheap because after buying a new vehicle and new tires, money got tight. Just a thought.
