HELP me setup a most BASIC shop with least tools!

Skillsaw blades are a decent source of 10series steel, garage sales and flea markets are great for tools and materials, however with out an idea that is suported by a book you might wander for awhile, the first thing that was handed to me by my mentor was books and the one i used the most was The 50 dollar knife shop great source! Also a key ingredient is having a mentor of sorts reach out locally through sportsman shows find a local maker litterally with a smile ask to start sweepin with your first knife strapped to your side! just my .02 either way friend "get to the grind stone"!
 
If you start down this road the best to you...
Buy good Files a Hacksaw and a Cheapo HF drill press... It will save alot of Bandaids and can be used for other projects
Start thin and small using "Known" steel.
Still have the first knife I ever made and will never part with it.
READ the safety notes at the top of this thread or be ready to bleed!
