Help me spend $100 on knifemaking tools

What Kind of Grinder are you talking about? and Where are you located? If you fill out your profile info you may find someone close by that has just what you are looking for!

Files. Lots of them. Various sizes and cutting types. Needle files. Yessir... lots of them. Sandpaper... you betcha.

$100 isn't enough to get a good grinder. But if you MUST add a grinder into the mix at that price, go for a 1x30, so you'll have some money left over for belts... and files. You'll need them.

get some files, sandpaper (180-600 or finer is you wish) a hack saw and a radio
If you absolutely want to play with sub-$100,- powertools get an angle grinder with a cut off disk and flapp disk to do bevels.

$50 knife shop by Wayne Goddard. Not going to be set up like a Buck factory... but you will be able to get a basic set up & start learning.

God Bless,

I already have an angle grinder and plenty of files, and decided to opt for some cutoff wheels and a few flap disks. I will make due with those until more budget unfreezes for a better belt grinder.

Thanks for the advise everyone :)
