This is my first attempt at forging a blade out of bar stock. Let me rephrase, it's my first time to hammer on anything out of a forge.

I did a quick grind to help contrast what I have done sofar for the photos. I also left it very very thick, I figured it might help out, as in you can always take more off, but not so easy to put it back kind of thinking.

I did manage to get it 99% strait, and flat. When flipping it over on my granite flat, there is maybe a 1/16" difference in the point height above the granite, and no wobble.

I did some normalizations on it before I ground it.

Should I grind it down as is, or hammer on it some more? Anything, and I mean anything would be helpful to me. I'm going into this blind.

That looks like a good point to start grinding.

Run a normalizing series of heats on it to remover any hardness and such first. Then grind the profile clean.
Next, straighten any twists or warps as much as you can....then grind it flat and straight.
