Help me understand photos and data limits?

I have two questions on photos. It is also very possible operator error.

1.
i have had success uploading some photos from an iPad, and also shrinking iPhone photos with a 3rd party app and uploading, but a “normal” iPhone photo gives a message that it cannot upload due to error and server cannot handle image size.

Is this because a standard iPhone photo is using all my data limits?

2.
Does a full-size forum display photo upload use more of my data limit than a thumbnail? So assuming I am able to upload a photo, does the display size affect my member data limit?

The forum has a size limit for uploaded picture files of 1MB (at least that seems to be the upper limit), and many iPhone photos are larger files than that especially the detailed ones; it has less to do with your personal data limits but just the forum's default file size.

You still have to upload the photo before you get to choose between thumbnail and full image, so it's the same file regardless.
