How To Help (modification) needed on screwup.

And I think that's a great idea.

I originally thought (and still do) that a .....CAREFUL...... flat grind from A to B .... starting at the ridge and working toward the edge ..BUT... carefully avoiding hitting the edge part too much and concentrating on getting a flat saber grind from top of hollow grind ..TO... the edge would do the trick.
The edge could be "touched up" by sharpening.

I think.

The craftsman would need to be meticulous in avoiding the edge during the regrind.

While I'm not FOND of the present looks, it's okay enough that if I could get a thinner grind on the blade, it would work just fine.

I'd carry it "as-is" with only a sheepish look and no explanations of how it got that way. :D

I emailed Spyderco and they called back and it is on the way to them right now and they are going to do....

What....they..... can.....

with it.

That's as far as I'm going with this.

Well, hopefully you will be pleasantly surprised!
I think this route is the best you can hope for at this point. Good luck! And let us know how it turns out!

Okay. When I get it back, I can have it serrated again and maybe have sawteeth put on the back instead of filework and maybe an integral bottle opener.

;):D:D:D

I still have my modded Endura that I ....really really REALLY like.

It's the OLD style and I cobbled a Native clip and fileworked it.
I swear those OLD VG-10s sharpen WAY better than the newer ones.
