And I think that's a great idea.
I originally thought (and still do) that a .....CAREFUL...... flat grind from A to B .... starting at the ridge and working toward the edge ..BUT... carefully avoiding hitting the edge part too much and concentrating on getting a flat saber grind from top of hollow grind ..TO... the edge would do the trick.
The edge could be "touched up" by sharpening.
I think.
The craftsman would need to be meticulous in avoiding the edge during the regrind.
While I'm not FOND of the present looks, it's okay enough that if I could get a thinner grind on the blade, it would work just fine.
I'd carry it "as-is" with only a sheepish look and no explanations of how it got that way.
