Help! My knife ate my pants!

I have a BM 520 and a 525. Both are notorious pocket chewers. I love the knives, but they don't get carried all that much, as I am trying to save my jeans.

This is why I'm glad my jeans are cheaper than my blades. If I can't fix it, and she can't fix it: spend $20 for a new pair of Carpenters or Cargos

Wonder what the difference is? I hate to ask about weight, but wonder if that has something to do with it. That or how tight the jeans are? I could lose 10 lbs and my jeans fit good but aren't super tight. I also usually wear a belt to make sure my pants stay firmly on my butt. I also use my knives a lot but my clips aren't super tight. Maybe that has something to do with it?

I'm 6'1 and weigh around 190lbs. No skinny jeans for me; I prefer a relaxed fit and almost always wear a belt. I would imagine there are several factors that contribute to pocket wear: scale material, clip tension, perforations in the clip itself, handle shape, the bulk from items carried in the fifth pocket, the way someone sits, quality of the pants fabric, etc. Still, it's kind of interesting how the pocket wear issue affects folks so differently... :)

I have many work pants that look all shredded up at the pocket from my mini grip. it's ok I can;t be without a knife

Tops CSAR. She's a mean bitch when it comes to pockets. My 0300 is better, but still not great. Thankfully I get to turn in my uniforms and get another when they get thrashed.

As soon as I saw the title I knew it would be an Emerson, that clip and that G10 ... they are brutal I only use mine with cheap jeans no true religion for Ernest.

Never encountered this, im looking right now on the cargo shorts i have had for 8 years and there is less wear on the contact area of knife and clip than there is everywhere else. My grippy sandpaper knives seem to have saved this pair of shorts. Just looked and on my 6 year old pair of work jeans that are frayed at the bottom and knees and ass wearing thin, same story. More wear in the center of the pocket than on the right side where i had a para 2 for a solid year. My g10 on it is actually worn smooth from use now tho.

(all ages refer to the clothing, I still wear some of my high school clothes, lol)

The Benchmade Triage has completely destroyed my work pants over the course of a year. Thats daily use, where the knife is clipped and unclipped several times daily. I also move around alot, so the friction has worn a hole in my pocket and seams.

Im trying to carry folders, that have zytel, frn or smooth aluminum scales now. Im also having some custom scales done for my Contego, that hopefully are'nt as grippy as the original ones.

My Carhartt pants are also worn, although not as much as the others. Again, the culprit is G-10.
