Hey all, looking for a folder with a 4 inch blade, blade needs to be thick. the thicker and heavyer the better. i love heavy knves. i carry a sig p226 all the time. so i can handle heavy. I was wondering if theres a production knife with these specs? I have had my buck strider coyote brown spear point for about 5 years know. and i love it and its been beat up and still works fine. But i would like a thicker blade. Ive been looking at emrson knives but there alittle out of my price range. I would like the zt350 but dont wanna drop 100+ and not be satifided for the blade not being thick enough. crkt i like there knives just wish there liners were thicker. i guess what im getting at is i need a big thick pocket folder for everyday cary. for 60-100 dollar range is it possible? im loosing trust in kershaw knives. ive had the blur cyclone and blur tanto and they have all closed on my fingers. plus the first da i got my cyclone the spring assit broke on me.. so not to happy bout that.

I have been eying the Boker Plus Jim Burk Mini Resurrection for a while; but I haven't been able to justify buying it yet, so i have no experience with it. But, its a pretty big folder that can be had for around $50 or so. 5/32" thick and 3 3/4" blade length, weighs 8oz... is that heavy enough? :p
Only thing is, and I don't know if its a turn off for you, since it is a Boker Plus I believe it is made in China. And its 440C, which is fine by me for a pocket knife, but some might feel its overpriced.

The ZT0200 may be what you are looking for when you say big n' beefy. It has a thick blade of .157" 154CM, thick hardened steel liners .080" thick, and weighs in at 7.7 ounces. Can be had new for around $130, but check with Kershawguy here on the forums for the best price. Another knife I'll throw out there because I have become enamored with them is an Ultimate Equipment M1911 Standard folder. The blade is 3.5" X .157" on the new, Generation III models, and it weighs in at a hefty 8.1 ounces. Google Ultimate Equipment for more info.

Btw, the ZT0350's blade is .121" thick, or right at 1/8". I had one but sold it. If the o35o had a .157" blade I believe it would be my edc!

ZT 0200 is what you need. it is think, has a wonderful handle, good blade steel, an EXCELLENT warranty, and is completely overbuilt. as to your problems with kershaw, send them to them. they will take care of you.

I'm with Cutter and theGeek... sounds like one of the ZTs might have your name on it. The 350's a bit smaller than you want, but the 200 could work for you. IIRC, they'll be slightly over your stated limit, but if you want solid, tough, and reasonably priced, you won't need to look anywhere else.

Spyderco Police or Military? Both have a ~4 inch blade, built like tanks, and the Military has 4mm thick blade stock. They're both a bit more than $100, but neither will let you down.

The Ontario Utilitac is getting good reviews and starts selling around $30. The blade is only 3.2" but it looks to be very thick. Model 8904 is the model with the better handle material and ergonomics. 8902 has edp coating. The 8912 is the tanto and its sweeet. I don't have one yet but its on my short list. AUS8A steel, Zytel handles. You won't feel bad beating it up at this price though. Check out the Boker Plus Resurrection too, 3.75".
