HELP Need to pick my first DE

I am going to start using a DE. Would like some suggesetions of what to use as my first. I am thinking of buying new from Amazon.com

Merkur 180 or other Merkur

Parker 22r
Parker 96r
Parker 91r

Suggestion please, I dont want to spend over 40

I started with a Edward Jagger 89L, I got mine for $39.75 Canadian so it should be well withing your price rage. They have the same head as the Muhle and a very high quality finish. Don't rule out vintage Gillettes either. You could score a Slim Adjustable, mine was $30 shipped, or a couple of Superspeeds, I got a Rocket, the Canadian/British version of the superspeed and an Aristocrat for $20 at a flea market.

I'd go with the '96R myself, or the 91R if you don't mind a 3-piece.
