hey guys,

allright, this is the problem. i am working on my first knife, but not thinking of how to make a handle, when i was making the knife i just had a piece of iron whats bout 17mm wide left on it, but my handle is going to be more then 17 wide, how can i solve this, cause i have a "sandwich" handle made, but then i need iron in the whole handle, else i have a open middle....

i hope you understand:o

You can carve the handle out so the blade is hidden. Epoxy the handle together hiding the blade. Pin the handle to blade.

That is called a mortised tang handle. You rout out a shallow recess in each handle scale to fit the tang, and epoxy the assembly together. The tang can be ground down if too large. One or more pins or rivets makes it more secure. Done right , the joint can be nearly invisible.
