Help on specifics of this Badger

I obtained this Badger Attack from someone who didn't know much about its history. I'm thinking of selling this knife, but I'm not sure what I can say about it besides the fact that it's a Busse Badger Attack. I'm not sure if it's INFI, so is there any way to tell from a description and picture?

It's a little bit thicker than my other standard Busses (SHII-E and NO), but not 5/16". At the right of the photo is a shot of the spine which appears to be blued rather than coated around the handle.

So if I can get the image right...

Any help would be appreciated!

That's a beauty! I think that the SH Badger is one of the prettiest Busses.

You're question is hard to answer...I think the only really sure way would be to send it to the Busse shop and ask them to test it...I've heard they can do that. However, if you use the search function, you can turn up a wealth of info on this subject. Here are a few posts that I found (I didn't re-read all of them, so some may not be much help):

From this, I think we can say these things:

1.) If it's 5/16" thick, it's most likey A2 but NOT for certain (Andrew Pinchen showed me an INFI 5/16" badger).

2.) The sure way to know is to send it to Busse Combat and ask them to test it.

Jerry probably has more info on what steel your badger is made of. He should be back from Blade in a few days.

My bet is that it's INFI. Whatever it's made of, it's one heck of a knife. Enjoy it!

Thanks, Andrew! You had MUCH more success than I did with a search. I appreciate the links!

Unfortunately, it really still doesn't clear everything up

In one post, Mr. Busse states that some A2 Badgers were blued around the handle...does that mean ONLY A2 Badgers had this done?

Looks like it may need a trip back to its home!

Thanks again, Andrew!

Hello CJ,
It is a very nice looking BA. Some of the INFI stock is thicker than 1/4", but as Andrew said the only way to be sure is have the Shop check it out. Good luck, you sure have a winner in my book.

Somewhere I read that the Busse's with ground off fasteners(the slotted bolts, that were then ground smooth with the micarta), were likely A2, as this was only done way early in the game.

Also, the bluing on the handle, makes me think A2, because again, I read that that was only done on earlier blades(earlier meaning A2).

Watch out man. These guys are pullin your chain.

That knife is an obvious fake.

I happen to collect obvious fakes.

I will give you $50 plus shipping.

Please let me know your decision.

Actually, I believe Jerry had said on one of his posts that the grind was one key identifier.

Is it symetrical or asymetrical?

Thanks all for your great help! Upon a much closer look, it does have the 'V' grind, and the bluing, and with all your other help I'm pretty sure it's an A2 beauty.

Thanks to you all!
