Help/Opinions on giving knives to my sons.

from the art perspective, i can honestly say that the active duty with snakeskin is looked at by my most sheeple-ish artsy friends with envy..... i would give them both one if you can find two....

At the risk of being burnt at the stake, what about a Rat Trap? Much as I love fixed blades, I really think that this would be a lower profile solution for both of them.

At least until Jerry brings out HIS folder....

Thanks guys, alot of good perspective. FYI, 6" is the limit for carry on a USCG vessel. I like the idea of the boys picking some favorites and presenting me the options. I'm going to have to start on this soon if I'm going to post some WTB. This is still not going to be funded for a couple months.

I like heirlooms and this is what I'm trying to start up, with the best. And I'm not giving up MY users until I can't use them.;) I was given a USN brass, lemonwood and steel deep sea diving knife by my father (he was a Vietnam era SEAL)and a old western style skinner that came across on the Oregon Trail, to later be stolen. So an excellent blade that will last a lifetime is what's getting handed down. My youngsters are the ones who will score the best though.

Your input is appreciated and this does help me plan. Thanks again!
