This weekend I brought my CRKT M16-14ZSF with me on an ROTC weekend. When I woke up the next morning I opened the blade to use it and i tried rubbing the 'dirt" off the blade (I was filthy) and I realize there are small spots of rust on my blade. Almost look like small mold spots. This is the first time I've ever brought this knife anywhere, so it's basically new. Is there any way to fix this without marring the blade?

Also, as an aside, whats the best way to clean out the pivot point and lock on a folder?

WD-40 and a pencil eraser will do the trick. First wipe down the blade with the WD-40 then take a pencil eraser to the small rust spots.

Take it apart use a plastic scrubber pad and some soap, then dry it well hit it with some WD-40 wipe it dry lube the pivot and re-assemble it.

It's an age old Army term for rust on an officer's side arm. The "ROTC?" was intended as a subtle joke. Oh well.
