Help Persuading Dad

BK2 is not right tool for skinning deer. I have two 11's, a 14 - both are good. My 2 is too big, same for the 5. Honestly, I use a Mora for most of my deer work. My guess is dad doesn't want you getting in trouble with a big knife.

For skinning pretty much anything I would say the 14 or the 15, if you cant dress it with one of those, somethings wrong..lol The 2 is a GREAT survival knife, but it is a whole lot more knife than it sounds like you need. I would try to get dad on board for the 14 since it looks MUCH less like a weapon, and would work great for what your describing.

I am **, I always do the 19** for year to keep away the predators (which happened once and was not a fun thing to deal with).

Posts edited accordingly with my sincere apologies to you for putting it out there. My mistake.

I need help! :( My dad thinks I have too many knives, which I only have 4 pocket knives, and one small cleaver for cutting squirrels' legs off that he won't let me use anymore. Help me Beckerheads, you're my only hope!

You don't need to use nuclear bombs to blow up tree stumps out in the back. I prefer small blades for dealing with game like squrrels and partridge. Show your father your skills of using the right tool for the right job and he will likely support your knife hobby.

Sounds to me like the BK15 is your perfect Becker Knife right now. I absolutely love mine. It's really good with game skinning and processing and good around camp.

I thank those who answered the main question, and those who recommended a more suitable model. I think I will buy a Bk16.

Yeah go with a 16... but what about the Buck you are using right now? Whats wrong with it? Lots of Bucks are well made and designed to do exactly what you are asking.

That being said, I would prefer a Becker too.

I use a stockman from them, I just don't think that the spey blade is long enogh to be able to keep an edge while skinning a deer.
