Help picking out a multi tool

I have only had experience with the Gerbers, Leatherman Pulse, Wave and Supertool/ST200. The Gerbers pinched my palm when I was trying to use the pliers on a small item whereas the Leathermen have a large gap between the plier handles when the jaws are in the closed position. Also, with about 10 minutes practice, you can open the Leatherman models with one hand. I just takes a little longer to open than the Gerbers since you have to swing the handles out and usually use your thigh. I liked the screwdrivers on Leatherman better since they seem to have sharper corners.

I have no experience with the SwissTool, but anything from Victorinox should be great. I do have significant experience with the Leatherman and the Gerber though and Hands Down, the Leatherman is the better of the two. Much more user friendly and better built.

The LM WAVE has a strong following,
I'm one of them!

I've never seen anything that could
replace my WAVE. Just a heads up if you
get one, I got one as a gift for a friend
off EBay for $43 shipped N.I.B.

Good luck and Hope you find the one that works for you!

Cracker, while the wave has a well deserved following they often
over look one fact. The wave is NOT left hand friendly. To some
this may not mean anything , but if your a lefty (like me) the wave
is a lot of promise that you just can't use. So take care if you're a
lefty.
