I have the backpacker which is the caper without handle scales, Cord wrapped handle. Pictures do not do this knife justice. They put are really nice polished stonewashed finish on it. Very comfortable ergos, im sure even better with handle scales. The new sheath that comes with it is really well made.

Esee izula is always the right answer.

The 1095 was the deal breaker for the izula. The knife will definitely be cutting food at times, i have a 3 yr old daughter, so the rust possibilities made it a no for me, for this purchase.

Go find an old American made (before Taylor bought the name) Schrade Old Timer sharp finger in carbon steel and carry it. I carried one for years and loved it. Blade length is legal in most all states and they stay plunty sharp.

I cant stand the Taylor China made ones, they suck. Their steel sucks and its hard to make it sharp. The only reason i buy new ones is for the sheath when my old sheath is wore out. Good knife choice but the new ones suck.
