What works for me on bar stock that was plasma or laser cut is to notch the entry point of my cut with the grinder belt (angle grinder would work also) . Also notch the exit point or when the cut stalls or stops at the exit point, remove the bar stock and fold/bend it at the 'hinge' formed by the remaining material (evidence of a flame hardened edge?) and it will break in a bend or two.
